Watched most of that on Iplayer. I hope one of these somehow beat Monterrey, because we should be able to rotate fully.

Like watching pub football at times.

That said the Qatar side missed a shitload of chances.

Competent. It’s not going to be a walkover if we rest players, but we should still win. They’ve just made the final of their national league too so they’re in a decent run of form.

I’d have thought that a team of the strength of say:

Adrian, Williams, Gomez, VVD, Milner, Gini, Keita, Jones, Shaqiri, Origi, Brewster

Should be strong enough really, but I can see us playing Mane to keep levels high.

I think we now take one or two of the younger boys when we fly out and start them in the semi final alongside some of the senior players who won't start the final. Shame to weaken the league cup team but I think it's the right thing to do considering the injuries we have and the schedule we have coming up.
