For all those fearing Juve, here's a reminder of the last time their famous back line came up against one of our boys.

Any of them before Basel. We have a sh*t record against them, and I wouldn't want to play them again.

Stylistically Juve isn't a good match, and they would probably be the toughest match for us of the obvious three. I would quite like a tie against Bayer or Real though.

I remember Brendan Rodgers fondly, but one thing that really, really stung about his tenure was that capitulation to Real Madrid before a ball had even been kicked. Having 2nd leg at Anfield is probably more important than who the opposition is.

In his post match interview on BT Sport Klopp said he always gets Madrid in these draws!

If everyone is fit, I hope we get Real earlier rather than later. Blitz them while there's plenty of gas in the tank.

It's the worst Real team in quite a few years. They've lost Morata. Bale is often injured. Ronaldo finally showing his age. Beating them would make a real statement.

Hopefully we then get a nice easy QF after that, before an English team, like Spurs, in the semis. By then their forwards should be well and truly depleted.

This might be a tad pessimistic, but if we draw Shahktar, Basel or (to a lesser extent) Porto, I'm gonna be nervous as all hell. Mainly because I don't want to exit the competition without getting the opportunity to play one of the true giants of Europe.

Only fearing Bayern and to a lesser extent Real. Juve are a tricky one, cause they're not particularly impressive at the moment, but Allegri teams normally enter top form in February/March and finish the season strongly.

Obviously an "easy" draw (Basel/Shakhtar/Porto) with a lot of giants facing each other would be the best possible outcome.

Hoping for Bayern, Juve or Real. I have a lot of faith in this team and those would be the biggest games we could get for some real excitement and to be honest I don't see why we wouldn't have a great chance against any of them in our (and their) current form.

Bear in mind that because Juve cannot face Roma and Real Madrid cannot face Barcelona we are marginally more likely to face one of them ( they have a 1 in 6 chance of drawing us) than one of the other teams.

Would love to get Real Madrid but there's no guarantee they'll still be that bad come February. I believe they will make some good signings in January to turn around their bad form this season.

A safer option would be someone like Porto as they won't park the bus and will try to play attacking football which will play right into our hands. I'd also like Shakhtar who like to play attacking football.


Bayern have been great since Heynckes took over so I'd like to avoid them. Juve will cause us lots of problems too.

Their national pride has been dented, I'm positive their teams will be out to restore some of that pride in European club competition. They are wounded animals. We do need to keep a weather-eye on them.

The problem we will encounter is our lack of experience. Teams like Porto, although beatable on paper, have a terrific resource of experience to draw upon. We don't have such experience at this level. Let's keep expectations moderate and, rejoice, in deeming this campaign a success regardless of outcome, we've picked up valuable experience at the elite level and we will surely be a formidable opponent in the coming years.

We played against Dortmund,United and Villareal a year ago in knockout stages, surely that counts as some.experience.for this side??
