Thank you for contacting Liverpool Football Club regarding your donation request in aid of 5th Anne Williams Memorial Golf Day.
We are fully committed to improving and supporting people’s lives through our established programmes, whether that’s on our doorstep in Liverpool or working in remote regions with our international partners. We do this in two ways. Firstly, by focusing our support on club’s charity, Liverpool FC Foundation, which helps 20,000 young people every year, many of who are based in Merseyside. The charity’s fantastic work is having a real impact in helping young people to get fit, build life skills, get into work and make a positive contribution to their local community. In addition to this important work our Foundation also works alongside three local charities to help support and deliver shared ambitions. They are the University of Liverpool, Liverpool Tropical School of Medicine and Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
Secondly we also focus our efforts on being a good neighbour in the Anfield community and supporting local residents, the 25 schools based in the area and local community groups. We deliver a programme called Red Neighbours, which is focused on supporting some of the key issues in the Anfield community including; food poverty and education, the elderly, getting the community physically active and creating memorable experiences for young people.
We are extremely proud of our charity and community work, which has been an integral part of our giving back programme for over 20 years. As a global football club with millions of fans from all around the world, we receive thousands of requests every season from charities and our fans asking for support. Every single request that we receive has its own very worthy cause but due to the overwhelming demand we are sadly unable to help everyone.
We are fortunate enough to see and hear about all the great work that is being done by charities and our supporters which is extremely heartening, yet it is also a sad reminder that many people are suffering illness or hardship.
Whilst we would very much like to be able to support all of our fans and charities in their endeavours, it is important that we maintain focus to ensure we continue to make a difference through our existing programmes.
Regrettably, we are therefore unable to support your request on this occasion but we would like to wish you the very best of luck and give you our best wishes in your 5th Anne Williams Memorial Golf Day.
