Shanklyboy - Sign the RAWK Tribute Banner
« on: February 11, 2011, 04:29:57 pm »
Fantastic turn out for Ray's funeral this afternoon. A fitting send off for a great bloke.

Due to some hard work by a few RAWKites there is going to be a tribute banner for Shanklyboy at the Wigan game tomorrow.  Here it is being made:

If you want to sign the back of the banner and leave your own message in memory of Ray then the banner will be in The 12th Man pub (The Salisbury) from 1pm tomorrow.  Pop along and say hello. Pop along and leave a message.

The hope is then that Ray's son Jack and his cousins will then take the banner to the game.

Big thank you to everyone, Jack is an utter gentleman. The flag is now at the HJC shop and will remain there for anyone to sign and to take to the match.
Just head inside and ask for the Shanklyboy banner, so for those of you who couldn't make it today, that'll be it's permanent home. If you do take it, please bring it back to the HJC shop so everyone knows where it is - and of course donate a couple of quid :)

Again, thanks to everyone's efforts and a big thank you to the Osbourne family. Hope you rest well, big man.

Sorry for his loss , and its a really great banner and idea ! .... I live in Jordan and maybe I wasn't active enough but I was always on this form watching and reading , and he was one of the most I enjoyed reading his posts, I will not be able to sign this of course but I am sure the hands of other Kopites will do just enough.

This is why I love RAWK. We actually get to see what the real supporters, of both team and each other, do for each other. Rather than the shite that is constantly spewed in the media and such.

Greatest Supporters in The World, end of.

Though I did not have the fortune of knowing the man in person, I felt like I knew a bit about him thanks to his posts.

A FANTASTIC tribute to a man who was more than worthy of our respect.
The one most important thing that we all must remember, in case it slipped our mind, is this club is much more important and bigger than anybody. I'll never forget that and anybody that does is being a wee bit irresponsible and stupid I think because the club is more important than any one individual. The Club is, The Club.

Great gesture. I don't think I ever ventured in to the auld arses thread before the sad news of Rays death which I'm kicking myself for. I knew of the hard work he put in in helping rid the club of the cowboys but never really read his other posts in that thread.

Seemed like a really good fella.

Well done to all involved in that banner.
