It can't be understated the winning mentality Van Dijk has brought to us. Since he has came in we have won trophies or hit the bar with them. You can see in games he demands a high level from the lads, if he is like that on a daily basis, demanding high standards, its no wonder.
You dont get many players like him in football. A lot of players demand a lot, but they dont have the aura or personality about them, or the quality and consistency to be able to get it. Big man has the lot, and he has a taste for it

The ball was cut back into the box, possibly to Pedro, Van Djik calmly bent down with his hands by his sides and positioned his knee so the ball couldn't go through his legs.  He literally blocked off half the goal. Must make life so much easier for the keeper.

Noticed that, there was another piece too think it was Giroud, again the ball was cut back and he just made sure he wasn't getting a tap in, his body made sure he couldn't get in between the posts, it went for a goal kick in the end off Giroud
There was a great angle too, set back a bit, and you just seen Van Dijk could see what was coming, and just started his run a second before Giroud could see what was coming.
His head is so quick, if thats quick, along with his body, its incredible to see
