He performed better in the first half, at times his movement really asked questions. But he lost his way a bit in the second half along with the team generally. Lost the ball is a really dangerous place through dithering on the ball. But he will have learnt plenty from this game and will hopefully do better in the replay.

Will Jones play in the replay ? or is he considered a first teamer who will get the week off ? Klopp said he will play the u23 side.

He may not be able too if he is considered as a first team player now. Not absolutely sure though.

I think the Villa lineup is what Klopp has in mind when he says the kids will play...

Everyone seems to be going off on one about this and none of us actually know for sure what will happen. Lets just wait for further clarification.

Agreed :) No point getting worked up.  It would be nice for Jones to get another game though.

He referred to the younger lads playing today as the kids when doing his pre game interview so who knows maybe they're still considered the kids when we name a team for the replay.

The likes of Jones and Williams will want to play the replay at Anfield. Can't see Klopp stopping them. Could be their last game of the season in senior football.

Jones is an U23. He has only made the match day squad because we have had injuries. He wouldn't get on the bench ahead of Milner, Keita, Lallana or Shaqiri.

Love this kid. Top tier technical ability, great football mind and movement, and looks to have enough physically. He’s confident, front foot, ice cold in front of goal with either foot.

I would  be fine with not replacing Lallana, were he to leave. We have Hendo, Gini, Fab, Ox, Naby and maybe Minamino too. I’m happy with Curtis getting 10 starts and coming off the bench regularly at home.

Threw in a sneaky little rabona in the first half too for no reason.  His confidence and ability on the ball is something else.

You can see his talent bit honestly thought he played quite selfishly at times tonight, like he was playing more for himself than for the team. Especially that time he refused to cut it back for a really good shooting chance. I was more impressed with his 5 minute cameo for the seniors where he really seemed focused on getting the basics right of pressing, positioning and possession.
He is the cat who walks by himself, and all roads are alike to him.

Thought he really stood up and took responsibility tonight never hides and has that swagger top players have.

Really hope he can keep improving and take any chances he gets in the seniors.

Hell of a task to break into our team though, should spur him on!

He’s very special, nothing he can’t do with the ball at his feet. We haven’t produced anything like this guy since Mcmanaman and incidentally he has a very similar style and gait to the aforementioned. What impressed me more today was his movement and strength in hold up play, already has little weaknesses even at 19. Mcmanaman, Fowler, Owen, Gerrard, Trent he is very much of that ilk, another world class local player in the making.

Had that volley gone in, it would have been special. At first I thought he was close on side, but the replay showed like two yards on... The way he beat the line...

I think there was a few occasions when he was compelled to keep it as they relied on him enormously mate. He was by far the senior figure and the go to man if you needed someone to keep it or to just get rid of it.

We've all seen him many times and eulogised haven't, we but I thought Jones was outstanding tonight. His feet are tremendous, he uses his arms to shield, turns away from his marker with ease. Fucking hell we're got some player there.

Whatever the fuck 'it' is he has it in spades. Special talent it's like the ball is tied to a string when he's on it. Took the team on his shoulders as well wearing the armband, runs for the team as well just like Elliott.
