The corner should have pulled him out previous round or at least threw in the towel.

He has to.protect himself first and foremost but it is never a good look to fold at your first gut check.

Forgetting the quit talk for a minute, what does Dubois have at elite level. His power is not elite, nor is his speed, skill, jab, defence, stamina or footwork.

Frank is gonna have to build him up with proper tests if he is to advance him. I'm.not sure he comes back from.this properly

He's fighting better men than most British heavyweights have ever fought at his age. I agree that he hasn't got anything special after tonight but at 6 o clock I thought his power would have dealt with Joyce.

One of the cards had Dubois 8 rounds up. 8.

one had DD 2 up and the other had JJ 2 up.

I think what he has going for him is that he's young and is a heavyweight. If he gets managed right there are plenty of heavyweights that have made big money despite not being 'elite' just because it is the division that gets bums on seats/eyes on tellys.

I think Dubois with his bust up eye would have done a better job judging than whoever came up with that 8 round card. Bizarre.

He's an orthodox fighter, his left eye is his leading one, having heart when you can't see whats coming at you at heavyweight is bollocks and the sooner people move away from that attitude the better. Punches that hard can kill you, especially if you've got no way of avoiding then. He quite but he was right to quit because with 3 rounds to go he could have done a lot of extra damage to that eye.
That is ridiculous. You fight until you can’t anymore or the ref stops it. That’s fighting.

Better to quit on the knee and fight another day and not get totally fucked like brook hopefully.

Still raises questions for me not in the way it ended but his performance in general, stamina for one, his static non moving head.  Still very young and got time ahead of him, hopefully learns from this.

Now time for the comic show.

Alot of people lost money backing this fight. That's why you should stay away from exhibitions if you can

I mean Tyson won the last round but somehow Dawson didn't give it to him.

Tyson was pulling his punches for me. I think there must have been financial penalties l if there was a ko

Still don't rate Joyce at all. The big names at HW will make mincemeat of him. He's not getting a title shot any time soon anyway so not really sure what he does at his age?

Usyk has got bigger fish to fry, but that would make sense. If I were him I'd try and get a rematch in front of fans and make a few quid while he can.
Joyce is a decent fighter. Knew he would beat Dubois as he has good experience. He would be a good match for anyone on the fringes of the belts as he has a great engine.

He should try and fight Chisora next as he would beat him on fitness alone. Then try and get a Parker, Whyte or Povetkin.

Don't think he is good enough for Usyk, AJ, Fyry or Wilder though. But he is an Olympic silver medalist and should have been gold. He should be respected more.

He also fought Usyk in the amateurs so there is clearly a reason why they are so confident.

Tempted to lump on the draw at 12/1 with Betfred for Tyson v Jones.

The only thing that's stopping me is wondering whether they can drag it out long enough.

Alaso, when you can't see from one eye, you're just going to continue to eat more shots than you normally would.  It's a double whammy.

Was reading about the fight over the past few weeks.  It was agreed they'd go easy and be no knockouts, with financial penalties attached.

Reading that back, I really should've lumped on the draw.

Joyce will get another crack at Usyk if AJ fights Fury.

How do you rebuild Dubois, do you go for the rematch like David Price & Tony Thompson or do you go down a slower path?

I think Joyce took his soul a bit so I'd avoid that if I were him.

He's young enough that he can take his time and come again. By the time he gets back up to contender level there might be some easy belts on offer, Fury will be retired and the belts will be scattered once him and AJ are finished with each other.

I'd also be getting him to chuck some tables around in press conferences or threaten to eat someone's babies. He could make a career for himself as a Chisora style gatekeeper, but the problem is he's dull as dishwater.

Tyson v RJJ - was a sparring session wasn't it? Tyson won easily for me, but backed off every time he landed something so was clearly not going for the ko.

Absolutely forget about a rematch for at least a couple of years.

He need to fight very durable fighters and mix up his attack.

He hadn't faced any level of adversity up to this fight, abit like Yarde when he stepped up. He needs bridging fights, European level tough guys that wont fall over after a small flurry

Just catching up on last nights fights. Anyone see Jake Paul (youtube 'celebrity') vs Nate Robinson (former Basketball player)? Think it was on the undercard to Tyson/Jones Jr.

Absolute sickening knock out. Utter disgrace that these fights are allowed to happen without headguards.
