Why am I always the last to know.

Just when did Jaap Stam start a band?
Is he any good?  :P
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

Can't remember,  but it wasn't long after that when Didi Hamann started going along in the away kit just to heckle him.

Well one of the new songs is about Sunday footy so I suppose I was bound to have the lyrics written out within 24 hours. The other new one about internet chess I'm not quite sure I understand though (any volunteers to listen and transcribe it ?). Two question marks on this one

   ON THE ‘ROIDS

Here comes the Black Horse
There goes the Brown Cow
Full of ringers of course
Thrown up (?) from the Plough

The hoops and the stripes
The halves and the quarters
The Sunday morning rain
The touchline refrain –

“He’s on the ‘roids
He’s on the ‘roids
He’s on the ‘roids
Just walk away John c’mon, Just walk away John c’mon
Just walk away John c’mon, Just walk away John because
He’s on the ‘roids
He’s on the ‘roids “

It’s Lee’s twenty-first
But they’re not coming in
Because bruiser with huge (?)
Declares them too thin

Annoyed and upset
They head for elsewhere
They normally argue the toss
But besides being ‘boss’

He’s on the ‘roids
He’s on the ‘roids
He’s on the ‘roids
Just walk away John c’mon, Just walk away John c’mon
Just walk away John c’mon, Just walk away John because
He’s on the ‘roids
He’s on the ‘roids

He used to lark with the dreads
Now he’s a nark on the ste’ds
He used to lark with the dreads
Now he’s a nark on the ste’ds
He used to lark with the dreads
Now he’s a nark on the ste’ds
He used to lark with the dreads
Now he’s a nark on the ste’ds

His paranoia is absurd
‘Are you thinking ‘bout my bird ?’

He’s on the ‘roids
He’s on the ‘roids
He’s on the ‘roids
Just walk away John c’mon, Just walk away John c’mon
Just walk away John c’mon, Just walk away John because
He’s on the ‘roids
He’s on the ‘roids

Can not wait to hear this and we've already booked our tickets for Blackpool.  Sadly, I don't think there'll be a new CD for quite some time.  I spoke to Geoff at the Manchester gig in Feb (March?) and he said that apart from "Blue Badge Abuser" there were no new songs around and he thought it would be mid 2008 at the earliest before a new album release.  Pleased to see that some new stuff's been written since then though.  It's possible that "the drummer's got a song that he wants to try out in a live environment" eh?

Well as we have seen there are other new songs around, so I live in hope, given that it's unusual for new material be unveiled live by the whole ensemble (as it was at Radio Merseyside) before it's been recorded.

4 weeks tonight.  Got restless legs just thinking about it.

Giggs announced in Sheffield and Ulverston as well for the new year.  Be going to both of these!

It's the day after tomorrow, people; the day after tomorrow!  I can't wait now.  As far as I'm concerned, it's the nearest thing we've got to standing on the old Kop.  Yes, they are Tranmere fans, yes it's music not football and yes, there's only one team on the pitch but the audience participation and the banter, the swaying and bouncing - just like the old Kop.

Surely more like the old Cowshed at Prenton in fact as there'll be 10-20 of us swaying and bouncing and  several hundred other old farts standing round clutching their measly refreshments until the last few songs  when the mosh rises to ooh, a mighty 30-35.

Despite the predictability of the payin' punters  I still can't frickin' wait though.

They've got too big for us small people now like.  I've got a scar above my eyebrow that leaked blood like a running tap after someone twatted me at the Blackpool gig and I e-mailed Geoff to see if he could point me in the direction of anyone who could shed light on the incident.  I blacked out when the blow hit and all I can remember is pulling myself up off the floor.  Sadly, no-one's bothered to acknowledge my request and I am completely in the dark as to what happened.

Ah, heard about this and v. sorry to hear it was you mate.  The incident apparently happened behind me, so I was oblivious till I read the reviews on hmhb.co.uk, having thoroughly enjoyed the gig meself. At least 4 of the 6 reviews on there mention it. One of the reviews even contains the immortal phrase "I don't care if you are 'Wigan's top boys', enough is enough, you're spoiling it for everyone, etc"

All I know is the last couple of years those 2 blokes have been looking for a scrap, so I always tell everyone just ignore them when they shove/ elbow you etc, even had to tell my female mate to just ignore them this time cos they would have merrily twatted her & then me too ...

I might be sounding a bit like some studenty type who doesn't like a proper arl mosh (and so are those reviews maybe to someone else who wasn't there), but no, I'm a proper centre half and I like a good mosh up, as long as elbows are down like .... but those two lads are something else...

So neither of us was right, it was maybe a bit more Annie Road than Kop or Cowshed ...

Not wanting to give a dog a bad name or anything as I simply can't say exactly what happened, I simply don't remember.  I wasn't drunk or anything, I just blacked out momentarily when it occurred.  It could have been an innocent clash of heads from in front or an accidental elbow as they were flailing about with gay abandon!  Just wanting to have some witness to say what did occur.  As it is, the scar may clear up and it does look quite dashing where it is!

Sounds like some of the people on the Biscuits 'yahoo group' would be your best people to ask, as they tend to be standing in a wise semi-circle just beyond the mosh & they've all been commenting on your incident. But I've never encouraged anyone off here to sign up for that list cos yer main man on there is a Red Issue type who can't help calling us names, then there's a v. bitter Blue on there too, and it would all end in tears. I'll ask on there for a detailed account for you if you like.

I would go on there but for some reason my computer won't let me and now my lad's away, I have no-one to do the simple technical things for me so I would appreciate it if you could do this on my behalf mate!

Don't suppose anyone's going HMHB in Edinburgh next Wednesday (despite it being the PSV match at Anfield ?  :-\ )

Long story but if I'm stuck in Edinburgh anyway on a Biccies night I'd have to be there in the mosh anyway, even if it wasn't gonna be so damn hard to find a pub showing the LFC game ...

All that bothers me really is not having the credit for other CL homes but feck it, it seems my destiny is to be at this gig. Hope it's a dull 1-0 win.
