I think we need a Neco Williams thread. Who can do the honors? Has a bit of Trent in him that lad. And massive balls. Annihilated Digne all game. What a lad!
Indeed. He's closer to TAA backup level than I thought.

A similar type of right back to TAA as well. Put some really good crosses in.
if I came home to allison in bed with my wife I'd ask him to phone Virgil to see if he wanted to pop round too.

He made good decisions today, knew when to play out, knew when to go long.  Very accomplished performance.

Was by far the most convincing defensive U23-player to me. If we have ten XI players around to help him out, he'd probably do a job in the PL or CL already, although there's no player around this league who can replicate what Trent does. Now we'll have at least another FA Cup game in which to give him experience and confidence to keep doing what he's doing. Given he's got the best right back in the world ahead of him, there's not much pressure for him to develop quickly so let's see what he can do  :wave

The biggest compliment he got was when Everton switched Richarlison to the opposite flank because he was getting so totally owned by this young welsh kid he probably hasn’t even heard of before tonight.

I'd like to see it. Gunter's not getting any younger and I'm not sure whether Roberts will ever be good enough as though he seems to have the shirt at the minute, his end product doesn't seem up to much so there could well be an opportunity for Neco in the near future. It'd be great if Klopp gives him a few goes this season as Trent's understudy. After tonight's performance I'd have a lot of confidence he could do it.

For so long we've had to do with meh fullbacks season after season and now we got 2 from the academy who could turn out to be absolute world class. If Neco can keep developing like that he can definitely be a perfect backup for Trent. Will save us a ton of cash too.

And it wasn't just the attacking play, he ran his socks off, up and down. His flank gave them no joy. Also, his link up with Elliott was impressive and for a young lad, he always shows for the ball and drives on. The talent is humongous. Played twice now against Premier League opposition, Arsenal and the Bitters, and absolutely looked the part in both games. I can see why Klopp took him to Qatar, the lad is a baller.

Hoever is a year younger and looks like he might be able to play left back or centre back as well. Regardless, I don't see us spending a dime on a right back in the next several years now! :D

Get this guy more game time, looks to be the perfect understudy as said above. Give him more time in the senior squad and we may just solve any conundrums if and when Trent is unavailable.

In the past the likes of Stephen Wright and Flanagan have ended up first choice for a while after a few games because of how lacking we've been at full back.

Sensational tonight. Confident on the ball beyond belief, quick to the tackle, good positional sense. He has a very, very bright future - all things which are hard to coach past this age but which he shows in abundance. Looking forward to seeing a lot more of him, tremendous game from him.

Kept wondering over the last few games why he’s been on the bench over Hoever but from his last 2 performances, we can see why. Looks ready to be a back up for Trent. Stylistically you can see some similarities with Trent

I'd love to see him in for Trent if we ever need to rest him or god forbid he gets injured, rather than faffing about moving Milner or Gomez. He might make mistakes but if he's going to be a legitimate back up to Trent then he needs games to learn and we're in as good a position as we've ever been to give him those chances. Having said that, he barely put a foot wrong tonight against a first choice Everton, so who's to say he doesn't come in and take it by storm. He's stylistically far more like Trent that either or Gomez/Milner so I think it's a calculated risk if Trent doesn't play for any reason.

He's clearly highly rated by the management team and rightly so it would seem!
