Here's some suggestions:

Laco Zurich - £200

Laco Pilot Ju (I'd change the strap) - £400

Parnis Pilot Plus - £150

Cheers for the suggestions, i really like that top one!

Just out of interest as well, what's the best sites to look at?

Junghans are beautiful watches in this price range.
£445 on the left, £490 on the right

Tissot are cheaper but they're a very well made and elegant watch.

I've got a Tag Heuer Kirium, it is an automatic watch, which I never take off. Had a strange thing happen recently, had a weekend away at Easter, had a few kickabouts with my lads and on the Saturday ended up playing in a game for about an hour. It was mainly kids/teenagers so I went in goal, was quite active and made a lot of saves. Next morning, my watch was an hour fast and has continued to be like that since, it was running about 4 seconds a minute quick. Did 30 minutes on the treadmill at the gym on Tuesday and since then, the watch has been running perfectly again.

Anyone experienced this before and any ideas what has gone on?

Might be worth taking it to a watchmaker to get it regulated.

You're in Manchester, aren't you, Rob? Mutter's in the Northern Quarter is good and doesn't charge a fortune. Worth ringing him to see if he can regulate automatic watches as not all jewellers will.

Gorgeous. And given its provenance, you are going to love wearing it.
Picking this up today:

It’s part of my inheritance from my dad (he’s been off this planet 35 years). But the silly plonker managed to pull the crown and thread out just before he died. I’ve put off getting it fixed for years due to the prohibitive cost (relative to the watch’s value) but in a place where I can afford it without worrying now.

Fair play to Omega, they have only charged a standard service fee plus a nominal charge. Can’t wait to start wearing it at last.
That is a thing of beauty

I have a similar watch , 1963 seamaster deville , my second watch purchase , two years  after buying an aquaracer because I liked the chunky divers watch but a more subtle white on black tag , I know tags are a bit more common but thought the aquaracer suited my wrist and loved it , it has now got me hooked on watches so then a few years later researched a dress watch and the DeVille was the best by a mile in my price range.

Classy and elegant, unlike me

Would love an IWC but need to square it off with the wife first , keep telling her they are investments for our daughter to cash in later....much later

Put my Breitling 7806-S in for a service today. The watchmaker gave me a chance to photograph the movement (Valjoux 7740) while it was open. First time I've seen it, it's beautiful.

It's very bargain basement I know, but I'm looking for a cheap & alright watch to take on holiday - somewhere in the £100 ballpark. Something more casual. Anyone have a lead?

The IWC and Daytona will ultimately come down to personal preference given how different they are. The Daytona will hold its value better. I'm not a big fan of two tone so I'd probably go for one a bit more Newman-ish.

Okay for £100? I want something I can potentially lose and not cry about it, which rules out my TH Monaco (and my others are a bit 'officey').

Why not just put your Monaco on the insurance?

As for the Seiko, it's OK, but for £100, you could get a really nice vintage Seiko. Or a vintage Tissot Seastar or something.

Now that would be a great addition to anyone’s collection. Buying it ?

I love it, but I can't afford it at the moment. Would have to sell one of my collection in order to buy it. Will keep an eye on it though, and if circumstances change I will make a move.

The market for sports Rolex watches has gone insane
Got offered $2k above what I paid for my Sub last year

I’d like the GMT worth the dual blue bezel but Jesus they are going for $5k over ask, mental.

Rolex limit the supply as they aren’t shifting datejust etc and then get upset at the used prices 😂

I've had my first automatic serviced so my 14 yo son could start using it. It's been sitting in a drawer for 14 years because I got my Dad's Rolex Submariner when he died. My son is thrilled to be getting his own automatic and it makes me proud to see him being so proud of wearing my watch. It's a father/son thing I guess...

This is his "new" watch...

Want a winter watch
To me this means

- boss little Casio style with illumination
Or.
- heavy duty tritium watch

;D I dress like Johnny Cash so dark faces preferred... But beauty is beauty

Edit: Budget? Well I was looking at £350 quid tritium watches but some of those Casios look ace for £15. the priority honestly is visibility in darkness - going to work at 6am, home at 6pm, it's gonna be like this for ages. That paint they use is shite, need tritium or a backlight.
