I got a hug off Pope John Paul II.

I also played in a casual 5 a side football match against a 14 year old Daniele De Rossi.

Per chance did this happen in the doorway of Gregg's?

I have a few minor ones:

Coached with, against and did courses with ex-Liverpool, ex-Premier League, ex-International players, and ex-MLS ones (didn't know who they were ;D)

Was interviewed on live tv as a kid, about youth activities for young people (one of those vox pop things)

Was part of a failed tactical software programme, and a minor advisory role on a Prozone type software that is now used in the the EFL and SPFL among others

Non-football:

I came up with the Hulk Hogan catchphrase "Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you"

I was the first person to put an apostrophe in their first name at a random point to separate the name. You're welcome, Mo'nique.

I brought the Goodies together before they were a comedy act

I used to be "Tenspeed" from "Tenspeed and Brownshoe"

I was one of Murphy Brown's secretaries in an episode

And lastly, I invented that ticking sound your phone makes when it passes other electronics.

Shook hands with Muhammad Ali at a Birmingham City v Liverpool match in the 80s. He feigned to punch my dad before shaking his hand too. The look on my auld fellas face :lmao

Around about the same time (early 80s), got pushed backwards by Jack Nicklaus at the Open at Birkdale as I was standing too near his golf ball after he’d hooked one into the rough right by where me and dad were standing.

Not exactly claims to fame but as good as it got.

I also drank in the same pub as Joey Jones back in the late 70's in Wrexham,The Fairfield Tavern,he came in one night with a few other Liverpool players, including Clem my hero at the time ,as he knew I was a Red he introduced us and I ended up going on a "mini" pub crawl with them. The pub was also a regular for most Wrexham players, who at the time were a 2nd Division team, many a time I got into the local night clubs free as I was with a player, great feeling as a 17/18 year old.

I’ve snogged Duffy. Before she was famous.

Played a prank with the Dirty Sanchez lads backstage at Wakestock, who told me I went too far.  :o

Pissed off Carl Barat so much that he spent an hour by a camp fire sharpening a stick, as he was paranoid off beak.

Loads of stories like that as I used to knock about with some people involved with music.

I went to school with the daughter of John Cleese, and when he came to the school for parents day I had to give directions. I had a badge saying 'public relations' but I changed it to 'pubic relations' thinking he'd notice and invite me to be a python, but because of his great height he didn't notice.

I once gave Graham Norton a lift on my motorcycle, which wasn't a Norton. It was when he was doing standup and although he was on TV with Carnal Knowledge he wasn't well known. He was a delightful guy though.

I also dated Cindy Crawford. She didn't know about it at the time, but to me it was a full on relationship.

Me and the wife saw Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in December 2007 in Belfast.

It being close to Christmas we knew there was a good chance he'd play "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" as the final encore song so we went prepared (as did many others) with Santa hats - mine a regular type Santa hat and the wife with a cowboy style Santa hat (red Stetson thing with white fluffy trim).

So the last regular song is played and everyone whips out the hats.

We'd queued for ages to get close to the front, ended up about 4-5 rows from the stage. The wife turns and tells me to throw her hat up for Bruce. I'm shitting myself- we're so close I don't want to launch the hat and hit the fucking Boss square in the face lol.

So I chuck it up kinda gentle, a terrible, 7 year girl effort. It falls short of Bruce but Stevie Van Zant (Tony frigging Soprano's consigliere) spots it, points to me, strolls over, picks it up and places it on Bruce's head!

I was delighted! But then, the kicker - 2 nights later Bruce plays in London and then Paris a few days after that. On both occasions he produced my wife's hat when playing the Santa song - it even appeared on an official video of the song which is on YouTube!

Was (and still am) absolutely thrilled about it. I have this ridiculous hope that he brings it out every Christmas eve when sitting round the piano with the family for Christmas carols lol

Some boss ones here! I’ve got nothing in comparison. Best o can do is I shared a few spliffs with Denise van outen and Kelly brook many many years ago in a house party in hackney. Denise van outen gave me her autograph saying “thanks for a great fuck” she was a boss laugh. But I have since lost it after about six house moves. I also met sporty spice with terrible consequences in the height of spice girl game. I didn’t think it was her and ended up getting sparked out by her minder.
I saw Denise Van Outen in a roof top bar in Magaluf with Julian Clary, They were doing a show on the main beach there for Sky i think it was.

The Bar there had these tanned blonde Swedish girls there who were all ridiculousy hot AF, i don't think the male revellers were noticing Denise much. ;D
