Well, tonight couldn't have gone any better. We might be facing Atletico Madrid in the CL final in May. People like Mark Ogden will lose their shit. He's written an article predicting a Man City - Bayern final, making it a foregone conclusion that Bayern beat Villarreal and apparently Liverpool don't have what it takes to topple Bayern at home in the second leg. Anybody who argues that this idiot doesn't have an agenda against Liverpool (and Trent) hasn't been paying attention.

https://www.espn.co.uk/football/uefa-champions-league/story/4619632/uefa-champions-league-man-city-vs-bayern-seem-best-bets-to-meet-in-final

Dont believe for a second that Atletico will overturn the score against City. Not sure anything they have done this season is pointing to that. There is a misconception about how good Atletico is this season, they are not. They got lucky against Manu, they probably deserved to lose again Manu and Manu is not a a good football team. Going forward they are just horrible, they are not a high scoring team and as soon as they open up a bit City will pick them apart as they are miles better. And, in the very unlikely situation they were to have the best game Atletico has played in years and turn it around they will be beaten by the next one.

We have a pretty good chance to reach the final of course, but would not count Bayern out. They certainly have the quality to go all the way as well. But as do we, certainly.

Would agree with this. I reckon City are in the final, its a matter of us vs Bayern. Madrid could give them a game, especially with Benzema in this form.

Everton are done, Burnley have a way easier run in. It would be one thing to draw to them but losing was worst case scenario. Their moral will be fucked beyond belief more than it was especially since they were winning

I mean they are done and dusted imo

Also would be amazing if Atletico beats City at home and all of Bayern, Chelsea and City go out in the quarters please

It's just a hunch but I have a feeling last year's 2 finalists are going out in the quarters this year. I don't think City get to the final because if Atletico don't topple them at the Wanda next week, Real will batter them in the semis. City just don't play enough competitive matches in the Premier League week-in, week-out. Teams here just don't bother giving it their all against City, and they get far too many favours from Premier League referees.  For all that is being made of Atletico being shite or playing unattractive football, City struggled to score against them, and a 1-0 lead just isn't enough in my view. But even if they get through to the semis Simeone will make them pay a heavy price, and Real will finish them.

He isn't underrated, he was just never in the top bracket of players (Messi, Ronaldo). He is up there with Salah, Mbappe, Lewandoski, and Haaland, though. Mind you, I probably wouldn't choose him ahead of any of the mentioned players whether it be due to age or quality.

Would still fancy Bayern to go through, especially without away goals but Villarreal stand more than a chance. If they'd won by more than one Bayern would have been in big trouble next week.

Looking at them, defensively they aren't as strong as us, and their midfield always seems strange. Is there anyone they're missing there through injury? I'd also expect Klopp to get the best out of Nagelsmann and his big rivals. It's all irrelevant until it happens but big chance it does. Just hoping we can see our tie out against Benfica.

I’d expect Bayern to go through quite comfortably.

I think they have pretty much a fully fit squad. Lewandowski had a bit of a knock that apparently has affected him the last 2 games. But not much other than that.

They have been almost faultless in the CL till the game last nigh though.

Underrated by who? Everyone that ever talks about him says how good he is.

The media and many fans never seem to mention him when talking about europes great goal scorers or top players, it’s always the same 6 or 7 names but never him. Even when Ronaldo was smashing goals in at Real he never got mentioned, and yet he has been one of the best strikers in Europe for over a decade now. Just never gets the recognition he deserves from the wider football community.

modric is something else. a great.

Easily one of the best of this generation.  He was so difficult to contain in those games we've played against Madrid in 014/2015, 2017/2018 and 2020/2021.  For me, him and Benzema are the two you have to try and stop.  However, easier said than done as he's a genius at getting away from pressure.  It's pretty remarkable that he can still play that position at this level at 36 years old.

Raúl barely had a kick. The nearest he got to greatness was when he shook Gerrard by the hand.   Times - Mar 10,2009.
