Players who trained on Monday:

Defenders: Van Dijk, Lovren, Klavan, Masterson, Clyne, Alexander-Arnold, Robertson, Moreno

Midfielders: Henderson (suspended), Wijnaldum, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Woodburn, Jones

Forwards: Firmino, Salah, Mane, Ings, Solanke, Camacho

Not too bad, pretty sure that's everyone from the first leg bar Henderson.

Our team should pick itself

Assume TAA will play over Clyne

Was looking at the line up from the 5-0 and other than the front 3, only 2 of that team will start for us tomorrow. Trent and Gini.

players that started that wont play tomorrow (6/11) Mignolet, Moreno, Matip, Klavan, Hendo, Can
The reds are coming up the hill boys.

Think we need to rest Salah for this one.

If he plays and gets injured then there's a chance Kane catches him for the golden boot.

We need to do what's best for Mo'.  We have a responsibility, after all he's done for us.

Isn't it too early to call on the fitness of Salah. I have seen the footage of him warming up. Perhaps the experts can help out in regard to groin injuries. I would have thought the big test is when he kicks a ball and doing quick lateral movements. It is when it is tested most. Thereafter if he comes through that, you need to see how it feels in the morning. If all ok- next test will be in the warm up before kick off as those sessions are intense.

Well, he had no reaction to training yesterday... which is a good sign..

Fernandinho: "We played them 3 times this season. We beat them 5-0 at home. They are a team who like to play long balls."

Not bitter at all.  :lmao

Like the one from Salah, near the half way line, that flew over Ederson’s head and into the Anfield Road End goal?  Well, we do like those types of long ball, yes. Guilty as charged.

We really don't. This is a Champions League Quarter Final, what we need to do is what's best for this club. What's best for this club is getting to the semi final.

Mo will want to play, this is the biggest club competition in the world and that's the level he deserves to be playing at.
Long Live Lucas Leiva!

Unless the Spanish ref sees an alternative opportunity to send City through so that Barca can trash them. And then, the news of "The Catalans don't support each other". And then Real trashes Barca (which I can't see, but bear with me) and "Spain conquered Catalunya".

Meh, too risky. Let's just 'ave them all.

Our players will be Chomping at the bit.

Salah’s going to be so good, the Etihad will hear a Ripple of applause for the first time since the commonwealth games.

They’ll be really disappointed when their players Flake out, though.

He is critical to our play just as are his 2 front line partners. Their replacements are well below their level. Save for VVD, I would venture to state each position is adequately covered in that the replacement is not far off from the incumbent. Perhaps the only other is Karius in terms of how he fits our style of play. Any other position and the drop is not of concern.

In hindsight that was a really stupid challange from Henderson. Can't really recall the situation but as far as I remember it wasn't in a particularly dangerous territory either.

Just for the sake of having a first team regular midfielder on the bench maybe I'd be inclined to start with 343, but then again, we don't have Matip either...

Really smart challenge.  Got the yellow out of the way so he's free to play in the semis.

Who knows- Sterling was on his way and may have created a chance. It was pure desperation on Henderson's part to keep a clean sheet. Given the option of a clean sheet without Henderson or 3-1 and Henderson for the 2nd leg, I guess most would pick the former option. If we get knocked out, in hindsight we would be calling for the latter.

A nice boring game like the derby will do.

That refs likes a yellow. Whoever does go through will be missing some players in the semi final.

I think the slate is cleaned from semis onwards save for a red card- depending on nature of offence. 1 game ban in first leg if non violent. So miss 2nd leg but play in the final. Stand to be corrected here.

Arthur a Brazillian journo - ' Sir Klopp. Firmino has said he is playing his best football right now, would you agree?

Klopp ' Yes'

Leaves it at that.

Journo 'would you like to give me a longer answer'

Klopp 'No'

What was all that about?  ???

Klopp hates stupid questions. The journo asked a question with a yes/no answer expecting Jurgen to do his job for him by going on at length... Instead Klopp just said 'yes'. He should have asked a better question.

That was one part of the game from Henderson that was missing in the earlier part of the season. Took him a while to learn those niggly fouls but glad he got there in the end.

If we score one, they've gotta score five. Good luck with that, lads.

We've beaten the brakes off this defense the last two times we've played them and United, a team with little attacking intent, scored three on 'em in the second half. While they'll still win the league at a trot, City's bubble has been well and truly popped and the aura is gone.

Best policy seems to be to keep our powered dry for 15-20minutes, then press them quite hard and try to pinch a goal.......
