Flamengo vs Gremio and Boca vs River Plate it is then if no surprise happens tonight.

Whoever wins the Argentinian semi wins it imo and hopefully it is River Plate again!

Exciting stuff. Those three weeks last year were some of the absolute best sporting theatre I've ever seen. Hope Boca do it this time to help put last year to bed (how do you ever recover?!) but honestly just looking forward to the drama again, those beautiful stadiums and incredible supporters.

Anyone ever been out for a Boca River game? A mate told me he went for a random Boca match, had his ticket but ended up bottling going in because he was getting abuse all the way in for being English.

everything I’ve heard is they get pissy with foreigners going to the superclassico, but sit in the ‘rich’ seats which I think are around kop prices

River Plate vs Boca Juniors - on Sunday with a 9pm kick off (UK time) : https://twitter.com/RiverPlate : https://twitter.com/BocaJrsOficial : https://twitter.com/Superliga

The match is not live on UK tv.

TV channels around the world showing the match live (+ great for IPTV etc) - https://www.livesoccertv.com/match/3366068/river-plate-vs-boca-juniors

I'll put up some streams closer to kick off - though https://www.usagoals.net/b/football.html usually has a fair few quality streams for the South American footy matches :)

Should be a cracking game this. River will be looking to go level on points with Boca if they win - with only 4 matches of the season gone... though getting a win over your rivals is usually more important ;D

I think it must be becoming more of a thing now. GOL LATAM and AZUL are pretty cheap at least in Brasil.
I've seen loads in Porto Alegre - plenty from Rio for the last game against Inter. And Gremio took loads to Sao Paulo. Great for the atmosphere.
Obviously River Boca will be different like :D

Still not allowed, don’t often get away fans at any matches in the top league sadly. A few of the shitty teams who can’t fill their ground sometimes let Boca, Racing, River etc come but that’s about it.

it's a shame but then I guess it's probably better to miss out on that bit of extra atmosphere for the sake of the madness that could ensue otherwise!

About 5 years or so I think, they just had enough after too many deaths. They were gonna start slowly letting all away fans back and more with good behaviour etc but Boca, River and co said no so hardly anyone else bothered.

Have a feeling Flamengo will end decades of hurt and win the Libertadores this year, they are looking great under Jorge Jesus. Watched them live a few times this year, very impressive. And they gave Serie A league leaders Palmeiras a very good smacking today!

^ no but I've been to a few big games in Brasil and I know the stadiums in BA but haven't been to games there. The atmosphere can be intimidating - have a look at the clips Jason posted a few posts back of the buses arriving in Porto Alegre last night.
But I think if you're a seasoned match-going fan you won't get freaked out. Obviously don't show up in the wrong colors like :D re. River their stadium is in a really nice part of BA - easy to get to on the Metro (The Boca area can seem a bit moody at night). The best advice I could give you is try and have a bit of Spanish. You always hear loads of stories about tourists getting mugged in South America but I've been here 3 years and have had no bother - although I'm a bit of a scruff so that helps  :P

Now that the final is in a nuetral venue the best bet is to go to that. I might go to next years.

Is right River! Can’t see Boca turning that round now, they’ll surely concede an away goal and that will be that.

Get Gallardo learning English for when Jurgen leaves.

Was about to say the same, the guy is very underrated, one of the best managers in the world. It would be very interesting to see him move to Europe, would not be surprised if his career becomes like one Diego Simeone (different style of play obviously)

Goal ruled out for Flamengo by VAR review (ref went over to the view the screen); Ribeiro was the scorer on 20 mins.

And another Flamengo goal ruled out for offside by VAR on 24 mins (and took 3 minutes to make a decision on it - attacker looked level; maybe mm in it, no replays shown)

1-0 to Flamengo on 69 mins; Henrique the scorer - https://twitter.com/Canal_FlamenGol/status/1179577392450478080 https://twitter.com/Jasoninho10/status/1179578012926431234
