The match is still on, whatever happens, in Madrid on the Tuesday evening. Details up here very shortly (I know I keep saying that).

This will now probably be promoted as 'Football against the idiots'

*The idiot racists
*the idiots who own our clubs
*idiot f*cking UEFA

There's a joint protest on the matchday too.

The MADrid REDS will be down there and might take you on a tapas y cañas (beers) crawl if you've got the munchies after the pub session.

Quick vocab for trip:

Una caña (rhymes with españa) por favor - one small cold beer please
Una cerveza doble - "double" beer, about 2 cañas
Una jarra (with the h sound of juan) - more the size of a pint
Rubia = blonde = lager
Tostada = toasted = bitter/ale
Guinness = Guinness (but usually €4-5 a pint)

Hehe. They do have "cerveza negra" which is a sort of stout, but I wouldn't go out of my way to order it...

DETAILS   PRINT THEM OUT NOW - TWICE - & PUT ON YOUR LIST OF STUFF TO PACK -  DO NOT LOSE THEM I DON'T WANT A MILLION PHONECALLS ON THE DAY WHEN YOU'RE LOST (those who are able to do so will doubtless arrange a meet-up in town earlier on, but I'm only flying in at 5 pm so I'll go more or less straight there).

PITCH BOOKED 8-10pm - let's aim to meet there 7.30 ish, by 7.45 anyway  if you want to start the match, otherwise you can come on as sub....

Polideportivo Municipal de Orcasitas
translates as ORCASITAS  Municipal Sports Centre

Unfortunately it is not the best connected pitch they could find, but it was the ONLY one not taken by schools, churches, local football clubs etc.

It's in Avenida de Rafaela Ybarra s/n

Nearest metro is San Fermin – Orcasur at the end of the southern part of Line 3 (yellow).

From there it will take 15 minutes to walk to the football pitch, up one only road, Avenida de los Poblados.

[one thing to bear in mind here are taxis are really quite cheap, it may cost 3 or 4 euros and all you have to do is show the cabby the address. They don’t speak a word of English I’m afraid ]

After the match, we have thought of a very special bar called The Red Corner. Owned by an Atletico fan, you might find yourselves very much at home, with pints starting at 4 eur.

[There is a bus from one place to the other, but we are unsure about the number & times. Perhaps there will be enough private cars, or even taxis, which again would cost say 5 or 6 euros, but can take 4 people. Will get back to you on this]

Bar - The Red Corner

Calle Bolivar, 24

Nearest metros are  Arganzuela – Planetario (Line 6, grey), literally 50 steps away. Another very very close metro is Legazpi, (lines 3 and 6)

The metro system is v. easy to use, tickets cost 1 €.  Will attach the metro plan to this thread within a few hours.

ALL RAWKers RAOTLERS and SoSers welcome, the more the merrier. BRING FLAGS.

Bring  your ASTRO trainers and a red LFC top

All red shorts & socks  will be provided but if you can bring yer own so much better.

THIS IS AN EVENT WITH OFFICIAL SoS INVOLVEMENT SO OBVIOUSLY NONE OF THIS SEASON'S KIT CAN BE WORN. BOYCOTT OFFICIAL LFC MERCHANDISE.

Bring scarves or badges to swap if you can.

Banners welcome - anti-owners, anti-UEFA and anti-racism slogans especially welcome (I'm doing one with all 3)

Will be firming up playing numbers over the next 24 hours or so.

Who is this organised by ? The Senales de Humo (= Smoke Signals) independent Atletico shareholders group who are campaigning against their shitty owner &  for increased fan representation, etc.  They are also organising a big anti-UEFA demo on matchday to which we are invited. Details to follow.

The metro map above is out of date - seems there's a lot of new stations or that's only the central area or something. Bear with me, I'm going to try to be helpful. Might not work - back in a bit either way!

Oh, and Nige - thanks for this, really looking forward to it - definitely two of us on board

Right - I've tried my best, let's see if it works.

Both match and beer are on line three as Nige says, line three was only extended beyond Legazpi last year so most maps are out of date. Wiki knows though - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Line_3_(Madrid_Metro)

See attached for all stations...

If you try this link then hopefully there's a personalised google map that I made to help me - if it helps anyone else then great. If it doesn't link give us a nudge!

BEEN CONFIRMED THE GAME IS AT THE VINCENTE CALDERON STADIUM!! thankg god! been confirmed on SSN tonite!!

cant wait now! :wave

Not yet it hasn't, just taken from reuters:

MADRID, Oct 15 (Reuters) - UEFA have denied Spanish media reports claiming they would allow next week's Champions League match between Atletico Madrid and Liverpool to go ahead in Madrid as originally planned.

Wednesday's reports suggested that UEFA had put on hold a decision by their independent disciplinary committee ordering Atletico to play their next two European home matches at least 300 kilometres outside of the Spanish capital.

"We deny (the reports). No decision has been taken," William Gaillard, special adviser to UEFA president Michel Platini, told Reuters.

Atletico were punished on Tuesday after crowd problems marred their home match against Olympique Marseille on Oct 1 but the sanction has angered many Liverpool fans who are now facing uncertainty over their travel plans for the game.

It's not definate but possible, UEFA have acted quick to deny the reports but you never know, hopefully for the first time in their history they will see sense and postpone the ban but knowing UEFA to be the stubborn, incompetent c*nts they are I'm not counting my chickens just yet.

I'm boss in nets. I play for my works team (Cafe Sports England F.C) and despite my less than large frame I'm immensely agile and widely regarded as the best goalie in our league. Reina comes into our work for a scran now and again and even he refers to me as 'the cat' because he knows how good I am ( all be it because I told him)

Should I bring my gloves and kit or have you already got a keeper?

One thing for those playing, after the meeting in the supporters club last month it was decided to lift the boycott on the club's merchandise.  So wear what you like as long as it's red!

OK J-P.... strange & (for me) disappointing decision that, but never mind.

Anyway let's keep stuff about the venue for the CL game & the merits of the (former) boycott off this thread.

Keep this thread for our supporter's match.

Come along, the keeper's not confirmed.

But once again I'd stress to everyone saying how good they are that being any good is not the main point of this game (though it certainly felt good to win in Milano  and a lot of that was thanks to having a great keeper ;) )

Depending on how you read the thread, it's between 11 and 14 players so far,  without really trying. We need at least 18-20 definites, as past experience tells me that'll mean about 14 actually turn up.

I'm really hoping for about 18 to play and at maybe the same number again to watch ...& then even more again to come along afterwards to socialise in their bar.

Decision was made at the last open meeting (Supporters Club International weekend), voted on and passed by members to lift the boycott.  It wasn't (even close) to having the desired effect - everyone has been buying the current shirt - plus the way the club deals with merchandise means there is very little financial impact with the boycott.

dont want to hijack this thread but i have to say...

I can understand the reason for lifting the boycott. but being a member who wasnt present at the meeting, frankly I'm a bit pissed of I wasnt informed of the decision. I understand its a fledgling organisation but the lines of communication to the members need to be improved dramatically....things like emails detailing minutes of meeting etc
