Very impressed with Joshua. I thought he would use those tactics but eventually run out of gas and get caught around round 9 or 10. Maybe be finally realised that pumping iron was doing him no favours stamina wise.

Meh, not a fan of Joshua at all but credit to him did what he needed to do to get the win.

Definitely not looking forward to a third.

Ruiz fought like a make a wish competition winner. Didn't show heart of a champion there. Doubt he becomes champ again. In the championship rounds you'd expect Ruiz to bite on his gumshield and risk getting ko'd but nope

Excellent from AJ

He's made his money mate. That's all he needs now.

Probably a tactical masterclass, but, as i'm not a boxing expert, it just looked like Joshua is a massive shithouse who would be destroyed by Wilder or Fury.

Terrible fight. That's not what people want to see.

His tactics were to avoid Ruiz all night, instead of facing him.

Yeah and now he's the world champion and Ruiz isn't.

He didn't avoid Ruiz. He out-boxed him and didn't get involved in a slugfest. It was up to Ruiz to find Joshua but he was too slow to do so.

Thought Joshua was clever, disciplined and well conditioned to dance around for like that for the full 12 rounds. I didn't think he had that sort of a fight in him.

Never been so sure that Wilder KOs Joshua after that, he was rightly scared or Ruiz' power and he used jab and movement to avoid it, I'm not sure with Wilder's physical attributes that game plan works for too long.

German dazn commentators probably shouldn't go to Saudi Arabia or wherever this was. Very critical of the choice of venue. As a casual I can say it wasn't exciting. but I can see what Joshua did there. I'm wondering more how he could lose against that fat guy in the first place... ;D

No he fought a fight to get a job done. Different s tactics for what’s in front of you. Do the tricky reds play the same against Bournemouth as they do against city or united for that matter? Why would they. Joshua knee he could get caught on the inside going toe to toe. Madness to start a ruck. He boxed clever. Excellent display. Not every fight has fireworks.

Wilder is VERY inaccurate. WHEN he lands it is lights out but it takes a few rounds more often than not. His chin isn't great. If Ortiz was in better shape, he would have stopped Wilder in the first fight, and Ortiz is 67 years old.

Oh no doubt, but i don't see that game plan getting him the win, his jab looked great against the smaller Ruiz but the way to trouble Wilder has been dynamic inside fighting from what I've seen. I would back Ruiz to KO wilder for instance, just not Joshua if he fought like that.
