as group winners, do we get the 2nd leg at home next round?

Yes, we do.

And so that we can save ourselves for the League Cup run.

Don't forget the FA Cup too - I'd love to pull off the quadruple this season.

ha ha I would too.

I was half joking, the club obviously think the league and the Champions League are the two big ones but I'd love a run in the domestic cups, they've been too few and far between in recent years.

Yeah the domestic cups are low our priority list sadly, but a run of easy ties could put us in there, been too long since we won either cup.

Feels like some big teams finishing second that we could get, would we have been much worse off if we ended up second? Bayern I guess.

All depends what our injury situation is at the time. If by some miracle we have 5-6 fit midfielders after the winter purge, I'll happily take PSG and smash them to bits.

as group winners, do we get the 2nd leg at home next round?  or is it based on who comes out of the pot first?

I can't remember how it works, but I'm thinking it's based on the draw only.

Yeah we’re at home 2nd leg.

It’s from the quarters that the draw dictates who plays at home first

Bollocks to that. The easiset run possible. Shit opponents with a 5-0 away win in the first leg and play the kids in the second leg until the final. We've got plenty of amazing comebacks and tight wins in the bank. Let's get number 7 in the bag with plenty to spare for the league campaign.
You do you, hun.

Juve much more likely now, but Barca will be out if Bayern do their job in two weeks time. Group F a bit more likely now Utd won it.

Need PSG to win tomorrow.

Absolutely nothing to fear there!  I always prefer when we play a big name as the atmosphere goes up a notch and also they're more likely to stand toe-to-toe with us and in those types of games I'd always back us.

I'd quite fancy a go at Real after last season.  If they think defending deep and punting long balls over the top will work with Virgil, Matip, Konate or Gomez then they're going to be disappointed.

We'd be favourites against PSG, but when you're against brilliant players anything can happen. I'd just like to avoid them and Juve (because of everything else around it, nothing to fear on the pitch), everything else would be fine.

Upon first glance, Benfica seems to be the most favourable of all those.

Villarreal and Atalanta failed to impress against United, and we already saw last year what we can do to Atalanta.

Nothing to fear though, I don't think it's a list of great sides by any means. Even Juve are looking poor again this season.

Benfica would be perfect, great club, great city for away leg, and no disrespect, very easily dispatched.

But what’ll fill the RAWK pages in early spring if not endless speculation from body language experts about the exact nature of the pitchside hug Klopp will give young Kylian, or the reopening of the polarising and oh so stimulating debate around Gini?

Oh and some Argentinian bloke flinching every time Andy Robertson comes within arm’s length.

The only tricky sides for us in this are City,Bayern, Chelsea and maybe Ajax as a dark horse and we won't face any of them. We are miles ahead of the rest imo. This Barca side has Memphis depay as one of its best players ffs, would love to draw them.
