I think ... if Morton continues to progress at this rate and take the chances that come his way, he will be ahead of Cain and Clarkson sooner rather than later. Listen to Klopp post match comment on Morton. When he fills out and has the right physique, he can be in the mix

He will fill out, but even before he does he seems more physically competitive than Cain or Clarkson.  I suspect he is taller than both, certainly Clarkson, and he seems quite quick around the field.  He has tremendous footballing intelligence which buys him the Kenny Yards (in the head) too.  Seems decent all round including passing and shooting whereas I think Cain and Clarkson are decent technically but struggle physically, certainly atm

That's great, but who is this guy and why should we be listening to a sports scientist when it comes to footballing ability?

Sure, but you wouldn't hire a sports scientist as a tactical coach or manager, would you.  If he's talking about the physical or psychological side of the game, then fair enough, but he's not going to be the best judge of pure footballing IQ or ability.

Yes - the quotes contain impressive statistics on running in that sense of you either have that or you don’t. I agree he is not expert on everything technical but everyone is raving about kaide like this fella and I think we have seen enough to see why.  I would like to think we will get him in the frame as a potential AFCON-time option

A bloke talking about a game that he'd not seen a single minute of, based entirely on stats derived from that game, is why we have Jurgen Klopp here and not at Old Trafford.

Looks like Dixon-Bonner

That would make sense he has been training with the first team for a while.

Who was the player wearing 51 in first team training today?

https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/447691-photo-gallery-liverpool-in-training-ahead-of-brighton-clash
That’s Elijah Dixon-Bonner

And this is what Klopp had to say about him post Preston

“Elijah, for example, did exactly that. In the last international break he was incredible. He's been long in the club already but was not really on the radar – and now all of a sudden he is there. He deserved these three or four minutes tonight. For a young boy, it's a massive thing to play your first game for the first team and I'm really happy for him that we could give him the opportunity.”

Wore 45 v Preston

Read the club tried to get him a contract with Portsmouth in the summer but they declined after a trial period .

Bajcetic makes it 4.

Keyrol Figueroa becomes (presumably) the first Honduran to play for our under 18s.

Any highlights of the 18s and 23s from the weekend yet? Someone usually puts them on the Liverpool reddit but I've seen nothing yet.

Their kids are as bad as their first team. Rolling around all over the place, having a go at the ref. You could write the script. All our chances and they will get a spawney goal towards the end of the game!

Great result. Looks like a win in the last two would be enough to see us through, but Porto could get the top spot with a result against us.

Hope for more of the same later

2-1 up at HT, both scored by Cannonier.

Made up he's good. I hope he goes on to be remembered for a lot more than the Barcelona match  ;D

With the amount of goals he's scored this season there's no way he won't be playing more regularly with the u23s soon. In fact, have him lead the line against Porto and Milan  8)

Shame about the result but think that's about 12 in 8 games in the league for Cannonier. Fraudenorf getting another, too. Surprised he's not been playing more u23s football now.
