Only listened to Neon Bible and The Suburbs, any other songs people recommend?

The entire catalogue for starters.  :wave

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

So.... who is FUCKING HYPED for hyde park in 2 weeks? ;) just listened to all 3 albums begining to end. Mumford and sons and the vaccines supporting, should be epic.

personally I'd just watch The Vaccines and then get off to pub crawl around Belgravia..

Has Empty Room been mentioned yet ?  Absolutely awesome song and that is really the hallmark of great bands isn't it ?  Different people have picked entirely different songs as their favourites and that just says it all.  Top quality band.

Half Light II (No Celebration) and Une Annee Sans Lumiere are two that haven't been mentioned yet. My favourites at the moment, though that changes every week. Funeral is a perfect album and The Suburbs comes close.

Funeral is probably the best debut album I have ever heard.

Saw them perform on Jools Holland in 2005, the new Talking Heads I thought at the time, was so impressed I wrote their name down (would of forgotten it by the morning!!) and went and bought the album the next morning.

Thats going to be absurdly good. Had tickets to see them at the MEN on Wednesday but had to sell them as I'm abroad, I've only seen them at Leeds and absolutely loved them but would love to catch a proper show rather than a festival set.

Coughed up the dough for the payable concert the night before.  Will be my 7th time seeing them (one of the many advantages of living in the Ottawa/Montreal area).  Saw them 1 time when their self-titled EP was out, 3 times circa Funeral, once for Neon Bible, and once post Suburbs.  I have to say, whoever saw them for the Neon Bible shows has not had a full-on Arcade Fire experience.  They seemed completely uninspired on stage, as if they knew this wasn't their best material.  I think The Suburbs is a return to form and it showed when I last saw them at Osheaga.  I'm looking forward to the show and the rest of Pop Montreal.
Check out my friend's band Fevers and their new EP (free to download): http://fevers.bandcamp.com/

Only got into them last year, now seen them 3 times (O2 Arena, Hyde Park and Benicassim)- Incredible each time. They've very quickly become one of my favourite bands.

I've had a a similar experience. I saw them supporting Franz Ferdinand in Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh, circa Funeral. FF were at their peak and I was a huge fan at the time, but Arcade Fire - who were moreorless new to me at the time - blew them off stage. Then saw them at Glastonbury around the time of Neon Bible, and they were a real let down. Thursday in front of the Castle is going to be widescreen epicness. Cannot wait.

Very similar to me, saw them at Reading last year and loved them. Since then, I've seen then at the O2 and Hyde Park too.

Can certainly understand why many feel that way but I honestly loved those shows - I still think songs like Ocean of Noise, (Antichrist Television Blues) and My Body is a Cage - are amongst their best and were fantastic live.   (Seeing Regine beating on an enormous floor tom twice the size she is can't ever be a bad thing!)

Was also lucky enough to see her segue into an ultra-rare performance of "In the Backseat" following "Haiti" on that tour so will always have fond memories of it for that alone.

Anyone who hasn't yet seen them behind this album is in for a treat:  I was at that Madison Square Garden show last August that was up on YouTube for ages.  Only "downside" (and I'm not complaining really) is that a year later, the set list is still heavily about The Suburbs so has seen a "old standard" like Laika (!) drop by the wayside.  Their shows *could* definitely stand to be longer though, so the more stuff from the other albums (and EP), the better.

Very very psyched for Edinburgh...a mere three days to go.   8)  Just hope all the backlogged flights in/out of New York due to Irene have been sent on their merry way by Wednesday night before I head over.

Fwiw, for those going on Thursday, you may want to have a look at this video put together for the Military Tattoo, which just finished up.  I knew new stands were put in for this edition but I hadn't been able to find photos of what they were like before now.  Top video on the page from 2:49 - 3:45 but the whole thing is worth watching for a feel of what to expect atmosphere-wise.

http://www.edintattoo.co.uk/about-the-tattoo/media/video

Mega psyched now!  Certainly hoping they can stand up to the battering they're bound to take during "Month of May"...

Usually about 75 mins or so.  Sets are definitely on the short-ish side (to me, anyway), and with this being at the castle, I can't imagine the show will run past 10:30pm.

I can post the setlist from Monday's Amsterdam show in if you're interested (it's a fairly typical representation) but don't want to spoil it for anybody if they'd rather be surprised.

The MEN Arena website has them as finishing at 10.20pm tonight. At Hyde Park they played for about 90 minutes I think.
Heading to the gig in a few minutes can't wait.

Regine is brilliant, never fully appreciated her before I saw them live.

Yeh, thought they might. The Hyde Park show ended with the Sprawl II, which was a bit unusual I felt.

That said, there's not a lot better live than Rebellion!

Just got home from Edinburgh. Fuck me! Best gig I've ever been to in my life I think.  Superb band and what a venue. I was seated and was worried it was going to be a bit 'Last Night of the Proms' good on Win for getting everybody up after Ready to Start.

Couldn't pick out one highlight alone as it really was that good.
