Roxy Music would be a strange choice for that slot, it's not exactly singalong material for most people. £340 though, that's an insane amount of money, especially when you weigh in a) the cost of transport, food and drink, and b) the fact we're heading into a recession.

I knew the price was going to be higher but that's quite a jump. I do get the reasons why though. I'll still be trying for a ticket as even at £335 it's still amazing value.

Coachella is USD $537, only 3 days long and is generally shit with regards to the overall line-up and things to do outside music and late at night.

I'd love to go again after doing 2013 & 2014 but finding any of my friends (early 50's) willing to travel to the other side of the world is nigh impossible.

Can't see it being very likely, he's something of a persona non grata at the moment due to comments on the war in Ukraine.

Here's a crazy idea. Maybe Glastonbury doesn't have to be a 'a vast show' every year. Maybe they can just book more new bands instead of paying huge amounts for legacy acts. Maybe the dance stages don't have to be multi-storey installation art pieces. Maybe just having people there because they love the festival would make a better atmosphere than a bunch of rich people Instagramming everything because it's become a symbol of aspirational wealth.

I've been banging this drum for years.

Totally agree re dance stages point, e.g. Shangri-La could be made a lot more "user-friendly" if they didn't feel the need to squeeze in as many weird little art installations and pointless small venues. Open up the space a bit and reduce overcrowding/pinch points.

The vibe was definitely down this year and the demographic doesn't help, sadly it's only likely to get worse with the increased ticket price.

Glasto famously don't pay the big acts much at all.  Coldplay and McCartney got paid £200 grand each for their headline shows.

Was there not a very convenient gap in Bruce Springsteens tour calendar next year prompting rumours he would be headlining? Has that been ruled out?

seems unlikely

Taylor Swift’s tour will be announced soon so there’s a good chance we will get an idea of her availability quite soon. She has announced as much, with UK pre-sale access code sign up available now (you don’t need to purchase anything via her site but do register for the access code).

She was due to headline in the COVID year, so I am also expecting her to be there this year… hoping her tour dates line up.

Hoping to get tickets and will apply regardless!

Currently no sign of Fleetwood Mac appearing.

Apparently they've been approached in the past, but are asking for fees way above those that Glastonbury are prepared to pay.

Not really the same with Buckingham.

As mentioned before Elton John signing off for good on the Pyramid Stage sounds like something that could happen.

Arctic Monkeys and Taylor Swift would have to be certainties.

Outsider - Robbie Williams
Lesser Stages - Placebo haven't played in 25 years and it's also the anniversary of 'Without You I'm Nothing'.
