As good as he is, Suarez was/is something else.

Salah is miles ahead of Suarez as a player and a person.

Something else not as good

3 midfielders minimum in the next window. And probably another young CB to boot.

Anything else is negligent.

There's still a debate to be had for who was the better player between Suarez and Salah, but there should be 0 debate as to who the bigger Liverpool legend, and as far as I'm concerned, that's all that matters.

In my mind, Suarez had the single greatest individual season in Premier League history, but on current form, Salah is well on course to eclipse that.

Suarez was here for 2.5 seasons  - he was at the level everyone remembers him at for about three quarters of one season  … not sure whose better at their peak but as liverpool players there’s no comparison, Salah is on another level, in his 5th season of elite level performance and is busy setting all time club records

Imagine Suarez playing in a Klopp team though.

If you ignore the Suarez baggage then they have both been incredible players. Suarez left us in his pomp and scored 147 goals in 191 goals in La Liga for Barca. As a club we have been blessed to have both of them.

And the biggest home defeat without scoring since 55 under Busby.

Scored 10 and assisted 5,some numbers them.

He had pretty much as good as a season as he could have under Rodgers, under Klopp he wins more trophies but I doubt he’s able to get to Messi or Ronaldo levels regardless of who his manager is.

Suarez in a Klopp team you have to think would be amazing, salah in a Klopp team IS amazing. The comparison will always be made. Not arguing with anyone who chooses either as they are that good but i believe Salah if he stays till end of career/few more years and we win more will be in the GOAT Liverpool player debate. Cant make a case for Suarez in that respect

Best player in the world. Just pay the man and we will win everything for the next 3-4 years. You can see that he loves it here. No fabinho, no matip, and we absolutely dominate our nearest rivals with Salah as the main protagonist. We have to break the wage structure, end of conversation.

What’s there to imagine? He has pretty much as good as a season as he could have under Rodgers, under Klopp he wins more trophies but I doubt he’s able to get to Messi or he who fannies about and dives around  levels regardless of who his manager is.

Messi is on his own tier. Suarez was playing at Ronaldos level for his last 18 months or so here and at Barca for most part.

He’s simply incredible. It’s a fact. It’s undeniable.

Let’s just enjoy the moment.

For me though Klopp is the reason why Mo is in with a shout of being GOAT at Liverpool. Without Klopp I don't think Mo would still be here. Likewise if we had Klopp in 13/14 then the likes of Suarez and Sterling may well have stayed.

As I said I am just delighted to have seen Mo and Suarez week in week out. They are both exceptional players.

Harry Kane is the GOAT in scoring unbelievable goals though, managing to add to his tally without touching the ball.

Rather disappointing performance today, without the weekly worldie that we've come to expect from him. A hat trick is but a consolation.

I'd be tempted to not give him a new contract, just to see what else he can do in trying to get a new contract.

He may have said that jokingly or he may have been 100% honest n frank.
Watching it live I deffo believed he could/would skin Shaw and slot it past De Gea. So I was actually very surprised that he slowed it down and passed it to Naby.
Playing percentages, Mo was probably more likely to score given his form, skillset and striker's prowess/finishing.

Don't think its a coincidence that we're seeing the best of him with a different, more attacking midfield set up.
Compared to the last 2 seasons this time around we've always played an AM with licence to join the attack and there's just more space - we're less good defensively but our attack is just uncontainable at the moment.
There are other factors (like him having a full summer off) but although it was effective 2 years ago from a Salah point of view our set up now looks much more like 17/18 and 18/19 which helps him a ton

Remember when Salah scored the clincher against United in January 2020?

Of course you do. It was his 15th goal of that season in all comps, a season in which Liverpool won the league.

He already has 15 in 2021/22  :D
