RB Leipzig getting business done early, Benjamin Henrichs’ transfer confirmed today, 1 year loan with option to buy.

https://twitter.com/RBLeipzig_EN/status/1280912469800751106?s=20
At one point he was considered to be one of the best players at his age group, then he moved to Monaco and I haven't really followed him since. I'm guessing he didn't do too good there, but that being said Monaco are a mess these days and almost nobody does.

no idea what happened there with him, like you, not followed him since he went there. Thought it a weird move really, considering his age. But yes, he was hugely rated, maybe all went to his head a bit.

Time for a bit of a re-set for him, and playing on a talented team, who are in the CL, for a very good coach, should serve him well.

Given how German clubs tend to get their business done early, it will be interesting to see how the pandemic affects their plans

again - I am surprised that RB Leipzig signed a player from RB Salzburg.

Their scout likes classical music, so he spends a lot of time in Salzburg. That's all. Nothing shady going on... :D

Heinrichs played now 2 years in Monaco, but he never really arrived there and was playing on various positions. Additionally he was injured the first months of this season, then started as cm, continued later on as right defender & through Corona Ligue 1 got cancelled..

Not the best time for him then it sounds like!

Hopefully he gets back on track in Leipzig, and they make the move permanent.

They'll sign Schick permanently
Schick and Hwang combined won't be able to replace the goals of Werner, if that's their front two next season they could easily struggle to make top four.

Sometimes changing the system is the best way of replacing a player. Schick and Hwang would probably mean a change in play, make Schick more central to the attack, and spread goals more.
We already have shit in the country, and the game of Liverpool fills life with joy. Thanks

exactly.

I think if they’d have got Haaland as they wanted, then it may have been more straight forward, luckily they didn’t get him though! But it’s tough to replace a player who scored as much as Werner. They can spread the wealth for sure.

If Schick and Hwang are playing together where does it leaves Poulsen? Is he no longer as important to the team as he was under Rangnick/Hasenhuttl?

Polusen to Southampton to partner Ings, Shane Long is getting old and apart from the City goal Che Admas has proven to be out of his depth in the Premier League so far but I do feel Adams will come good long term. Polusen would be a good short term move for the Saints though.

Don’t think adding Hwang would mean the end of him at Leipzig. He captained Leipzig a couple times last season too - he seems very highly thought of on and off the pitch.

Yes bit of a known secret. He seems bound to join them, and I think they would be happy to get it done asap before someone else joins the race. Dortmund are known for getting the most out of transfer deals but time is against them, so it would be an interesting saga

Borussia Dortmund and Andre Schürrle have parted ways, and his contract has been terminated with immediate effect (it had another season to run).

Dortmund do a lot of great work in the transfer market, but that signing, was up there with the absolute worst!

https://twitter.com/BlackYellow/status/1283343299386970113?s=20

Also Manuel Neuer in a spot of bother after being filmed in a bar in Croatia singing a Croatian song with facist connotations. His management are claiming he didn’t know, saying he doesn’t speak Croatian. But that’s been disputed, as apparently he does understand quite a bit of the language and has strong links with the country and visits frequently. Either way, not the best look for the captain of Germany and Bayern.

Story here.

Kinda sad how the careers of Germany’s 2014 world cup winning goal scorer and the man who assisted him declined so rapidly!

But also good for Schürrle to call it a day now. I’m sure he could have plodded along for a while longer! But I guess he wasn’t enjoying it anymore.

His best seasons in club football where at Mainz, downhill from there ;)

Didn't see that coming. He's won a WC and a league title. And where has he.been in recent years: at Spartak and struggling with relegated Fulham. It wouldn't surprise me if it's a bit like Marcell Jansen's early retirement: lack of enjoyment and disinterest at what was potentially available. I see Der Spiegel has a quote that Schurrle said the business of football made him rich, but lonely. Says it all really.

Unfortunately, it was behind a paywall so I couldn’t read the whole thing. He told der Spiegel: the lows got lower and there were less and less highs”. He also said that he’s been thinking about retiring for quite some time.
Seems to me like an intelligent guy who’s made a sensible decision here. Why spend the next four years playing for eight different clubs when you can retire rich at 29?

I don't think it's the best move for him. Monaco seems like such a mess these days, and he needs to up his reputation back. Still, wish him luck. I liked his Frankfurt.

Kosicke’s agency handles a lot of coaches/managers, that’s what they specialise in. Kloppo was the first one though, who started him on that road :D

One of the Italian reporters says he is staying at RB.

It makes some sense considering how Maldini, Capello and Ibrahimovic all publicly attacked him. He deserves better than that. He could transform Everton but it's the same cesspool Milan is. Poor run of form and the fans will turn against him. I hope to see him going to a place that would give him time and freedom.
