Those who've campaigned for the truth on Hillsborough were once a suppressed minority. Now the minority are those left clinging to the lies.

My idea was to build Liverpool into a bastion of invincibility. Napoleon had that idea. He wanted to conquer the bloody world.

All the best Louis and please please just get well man.

I've always had respect for him,one of the true innovators in football management, the Ajax teams he coached played some of the most complete football ever witnessed and those 90's finals were epic spectacles.

And i've always liked people who talk straight like Van Gaal even if i'm not agreeing, bland fence sitters are a dime a dozen now.

Get well, Louis. I've always liked him, even at Utd - great character.

Ronnie the Red's been appointed to take over from van Gaal after the World Cup.

I did think they they'd go with Guus Hiddink or Leo Beenhakker again, but Ronnie's only held the job once before so fair enough.

Good news

Louis van Gaal says prostate cancer treatment has been successful - The Athletic

Quote
Netherlands head coach Louis van Gaal has said that the radiation treatment he was undergoing for prostate cancer has been successful.

The 70-year-old, who managed Manchester United between 2014 and 2016, revealed he was battling the disease on Dutch television on April 3.

Van Gaal has already said that he will step down from his third spell with the national team after the 2022 World Cup. He previously managed Ajax, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich in a sparkling career.

Speaking to ANP, Van Gaal said: “I've been through everything. I had 25 radiation treatments. Then I had to wait five or six months to see if it had done its job. It did.”

He had previously not revealed the illness to his players, telling television programme Humberto on Sunday: “I didn't want to tell it to my players because it could have influenced their performances.

“In each period during my time as manager of the national team I had to leave in the night to go to the hospital without the players finding it out until now. While thinking I was healthy, but... I am not.”

Van Gaal’s first wife, Fernanda Obbes, died of liver and pancreatic cancer in 1994. The year after, Van Gaal won his first Champions League with his legendary Ajax side.

“I've been through a lot with illnesses, including with my own wife,” he added. “So that's just part of life.

“(I) as a human being have probably become richer because of all those experiences.”

Wonderful news. He's tough old bastard is Aloysius Paulus Maria "Louis" van Gaal, and all credit to him.
I’ve plenty links to the clubs playing and backroom staff as many on here know thank you very much. Fair enough, I admire your optimism. But you’re absolute ostriches if you think this squad, even with 2 or 3 new, “cut price” players with potential get us anywhere close
