Anyone else get the feeling that he could be the thing that swings it this season? Cuts through the parked buses with ease. Pure quality.

He was certainly the difference between nervy last few minutes and coasting home. I've been impressed every time I've seen him this season.

Great technique for his goal, he really gives the team another dimension and looks to create dangerous situations every time he gets the ball. He has to be getting more game time, and maybe that's why Klopp is experimenting with the 4-2-3-1 in order to get all our best attacking players on the pitch at once.

A certain Mr Adam must be feeling a right Charlie now.

Nice to hear another of his former Stoke team mates, and also a former Red, say nice things about him.

https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpools-prolific-attacking-trio-danger-15336866

Edit, after reading the original article it's not so flattering. I think it says more about Stoke than Shaqiri though.

He's exceeding all expectations. And he's quick like a hare. He should be starting behind our front 3. From the current available players, the XI that started against Red Star are clearly our best starting lineup. He just makes the midfield far more functional. So so good between the lines.

If we haven't got AOC to make the runs from midfield to break defences, I think Shaq and his brilliant incisive passing is our best Plan B. It's something we've lacked since Coutinho left.

What a great bargain.

He now has to now start every game.

Intelligence, vision, aggression, natural ability, self belief are some of his attributes but he is also buying into the Jurgen hard work ethos and being part of a team of friends/family. Dare I say it, probably our most naturally talented footballer at present and he might have just found what he was looking for.

Only another two seasons will tell but it's looking good.

Did great today and all season but you’ll be disappointed if you think he’ll be anywhere near starting every game

He’ll get a decent amount of games though

Think you may be surprised; for me, he will be regarded as an integral part of our best 11 by the end of the season. He’s got great technique and vision; the weight of his passing is as good as anyone’s; he is a determined little fucker, too. No way has he come here to pick splinters out of his arse; he is a player and a competitor.

Against the deep defensive lines he offers us:

Incisive passing in the final third
Set piece threat and delivery
Long range shooting
Decent dribbling and movement

So happy he's got his goal. I have a feeling he is gonna be immense for us this season.  Should have started today, but happy that Lallana got a run as well.

The minutes Lallana is getting are crucial if he is to have any chance of finding his rhythm again.

Well whether he starts or not, he's at least solidified himself as a very dependable option as we navigate deep into multiple competitions. You feel very confident with him in a starting role against virtually anyone. Our squad is so much stronger than in past years.

Have Phil and Gary Neville apologised for calling him a c*nt at the start of the season yet? Thought not...

Awesome player and he's clearly loving it.
