Bit strange to be ruled out so quickly, so cant be mind games. Makes things really tough on Tues, just hope he can be back for Sunday.

Yep. Was desperately hoping he would be fit. Had even pictured the first goal to be a firmino header from a robbo cross. Tough luck.

so why did we bring him on? If it’s so bad. Makes no sense. Either he is injured or not.

Seems we were clutching at straws or perhaps bringing him on has exacerbated the injury

He can’t be close to fit if we’ve ruled him out already

It depends on the importance of the player and the game, if it's as important as a Champions League Semi Final then the medical staff will do anything possible to ensure an important injured player is able to take part in the some of the game. If the game wasn't 3-0 I'd bet on the club saying he had a chance for Tuesday.

IMO he’s done for the season. Klopp has been very despondent answering questions about him. I don’t think we’ll be seeing him again unless we somehow make the final.

The final isn't till June 1st so he has time to recover.  He might be well off the pace by then though.

Is it likely he'll have recovered in 3 weeks time? How long do muscle tears take to heal?

If we can go into the final with a fully fit squad bar Keita then we have a huge chance.

The original injury didnt seem significant as he and the medical team  believed he could play in the 1st leg.  However, we dont know to what extent the he has worsened the injury although from what i saw last night he was walking around aftert the final whistle so doesnt need any crutches etc...

He has 3 weeks to get fit he should be close to starting by then

Based on how he was running around after the match I'd be very surprised if he wasn't at the very least on the bench.

He's due back this month, probably not in time for Wolves but certainly in time for the final.

Is this certain? I know Klopp said he's out for rest of the season, but not sure if he was including a possible CL final in that statement. I've not seen any statement from Klopp/LFC since that press conference?

This from yesterday says he's unlikely to face Wolves (but not ruled out) and due back this month -

Quote
Roberto Firmino
The Brazilian was limited to just a substitute role against Barcelona at Camp Nou after suffering a small muscle tear.

However, he sat out the Reds' Premier League clash with Newcastle United and return meeting with the Catalans and is unlikely to be fit to face Wolves.

Klopp update:

"He still has problems, he’s not even in the squad. The medical dept said ‘no chance’. It doesn’t look good for midweek, no, it is not really likely."

Expected return:

There's no one size fits all for healing to be honest. There are so many factors behind it and not just physical ones. External issues like stress, nutrition, mental health, sleep quality and duration, etc all have an effect on healing. Then you have the size of the tear, the position with the muscle (Muscle belly? Tendon? The junction between the muscle belly and the tendon?) and the bodies ability to heal itself. Asking how long do muscle tears take to heal is like asking how long is a piece of string ;D

BBC reporting that Thomas Tuchel wants Firmino to be the #1 target for PSG this summer and of course LFC won't even entertain it by the same report.

Brought up an interesting discussion on twitter in that if they offered Hazard type money would you do it?  And if your response is that Firmino is irreplaceable to Klopp's system at even that amount of money then what does that mean for us in 2-3 years time when Firmino slows down and needs to be replaced?
