I'm so taken aback to read this, so so sorry to you and your loved ones. He'll be so sorely missed.

I have so much respect for Nick, despite never meeting. Absolutely looked up to him in awe on here. No surprise to read such a fantastically thoughtful man has given what he can to provide others another chance in life.

It was always a pleasure to read anything and everything he had to share, to say he was insightful on a diverse range of topics would be the understatement of the year. I bet he bossed many a pub quiz!

I never spoke to him I don't think but whenever you came across his posts he always seemed proper knowledgeable. Like he could tell you a tale of any topic that came up.

It has saddened me, immensely, to hear this about The Gullysucker.

This gentleman was, by far, my very favourite poster on these forums.

I admired, and respected him a lot.

Reading his posts was for me, a joy as I'm sure he knew everything, about everything and he educated me on so many different things, from the best way to grind a piece of metal to beekeeping and all manner of weird and wonderful stuff in between.

Medic, family, loved ones and friends of The Gullysucker, I am extremely sorry.

I lost my dad in similar circumstances a few weeks ago, so I can totally relate with what the family is going through.

Gulley - always looked out for your analysis of the arl photos in the Liverpool Life thread, Sherlock Holmes could have learnt something from you about identifying 50s, 60s or 70s cars and different street angles to work out where the photos were taken. And from your other contributions it’s no surprise you were boss at pub quizzes RIP mate

Gulley was a fantastic poster on here. Super intelligent and with such a broad range of knowledge. He always came across to me as a rather incredible man.

Terrible news. I am glad you got to see him before he left. Very sad indeed and I am sure completely out of the blue. There are some user names I see on here who have funny or thoughtful things to say and I like to read. I always enjoyed his comments. RIP.

Really sad news, RIP Nick/Gulleysucker.

There are a handful of posters on here who I’ll immediately stop and read when scrolling through a thread. Especially on more heated topics, I sighed with relief if Gulley appeared, I knew I could rely on him for an insightful and well balanced reply. He was everything that I love about this place.

From reading those who knew him personally he sounded like a top man which is no surprise. Hope his family and friends can stay strong in this tough time.
