They're already crying about the fixtures over on Redcafe btw.

They've been "shafted" according to them  ;D ;D
Did the PL not receive Whiskey Nose's email in time?
Rafa Benitez: "I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager. Thank you so much once more and always remember: You'll never walk alone."

Probably since the Sturridge 1-0 game in 13/14?

That was early in the season.

I can't ever remember getting past Christmas having not yet played United.
United used to win titles on easy street, time for us to take over that real estate

February looks the toughest month potentially. And could have FA Cup and CL in there too.

....and what will happen is inevitable. The debate about rotation will become tiresome

Those opening 5 fixtures minus Aston Villa are all really tough including Leeds at home as it's their first game back in the Premier League and they will be looking to make a statement against the current champions. Win all five of those opening games at it would be a hell of a statement in terms of retaining the title.

Happy enough with the way the fixtures have been drawn for us.

Couple of tricky patches, but nothing we aren't capable of overcoming.

As always, getting off to a winning start before the City game will go a long way.

Decent end of year, and the run in is a cinch.

Man City Home next year, packed house.

CL final a week after the season ends.

I'd rather play those first 5 fixtures in September than during the winter or the run in, that's for sure! Need it wrapped up before the last game of the season as City have Everton at home - can see that ending 18-0 if the title is on the line.

An easy looking run in is never quite the same when it rolls round and half those teams are fighting to stay up. United away for example.

Hard start.

I always think it is underplayed how important starting well is for a season.

If you don't start well it can build up pressure and lead to more mistakes and slip ups due to pressure.

Not too bad, some tough runs here and there but you always get them. Leeds will be up for it as the promoted sides always are in the first games, but our quality should see them aside. From what I've seen of them in the championship they have the look of a team who'll go back down straight away, so there's no excuses there. Nice to see the tradition of Arsenal being our 2nd home game continues  ;D think you could put your house on that happening

Everton right after the international fixtures is a nuisance.

I'm sure that's happened to us recently too. Although it's only European players in the October break I think isn't it, so at least the Brazilian lads won't be disappearing, or have I imagined that?

What’s their main moan

They're upset that most of their big away games are in the 2nd half of the season so more likely to have fans there.

They're moaning about their October,  December & January fixtures as well as Wolves on the final day.

Also something about playing us in the league during the latter stages of the CL as if they're still going to be in it at that point lol.

Over the moon with Leeds on the opening day. Good to get 2 big games in Chelsea & Arsenal out of the way early.

Run in doesn't look too bad either. Who fancies winning it at Old Trafford on May 1st?   ;D
No I have a taste for the guards of honour now. I'd like that to be the 4th or 5th one at least by then.

It will be difficult to top the start of last season possibly ever! Did we win 17 in a row or something? Crazy.

I feel the "one game at a time" mantra is going to be more important than ever this season. The players really can't allow themselves to be distracted by thoughts of what they have achieved over the past two seasons. If we lose one game early on, disappointment could quickly turn into self-doubt and a run of bad results...

But they haven't earned the reputation of Mentality Monsters for nothing and I see no reason not to feel confident going into this season. We may or may not match the levels of last season in terms of wins/points, but the primary objective remains the title, not entries in the record books.
