Favorite LFC Kits Over The Years
« on: December 27, 2014, 04:33:00 pm »
Over the years we have seen the LFC kit go through a lot of changes and modifications some of them we liked and some of them we hated and in this thread the focus is primarily on the kits we loved to see them being worn by our players and loved wearing them ourselves.. each kit brings with it it's own memories and experiences that are/will be etched into our minds forever... from wearing the (surprisingly) blue and whites in the late 19th century
to wearing the red and whites up until the mid 60's and wearing the all famous all red from then on thanks to a certain Scot for walking into the club and into our lives and into the history books of football who thought "Red is for danger and red is for power" and he wasn't wrong (at all), which we ( only a few of us) had the privilege to be the first ones to watch it live in color .. Hitachi, Crown Paints, Candy, Carlsberg to Standar Chartered and forwards..

The one which I love the most is the one we wore in 08/09, not the main kit  but the one which we wore on the day we tore a new hole to 'em at Old Trafford, yeah we had a lot of better ones over the years with great endings as well but I don't know why, but I am attached to this one..

So which ones yours..

I like any kit that's worn by our captain sporting a shit eating grin as he lifts a big silver pot above his head.

All the adidas ones especially the yellow with red stripes and the grey above.

The blue and white effort adidas tried on us as a 3rd kit a few seasons ago, only cause it gave us the opportunity to sing 'Blue & White shite' in a friendly away at Hull  ;D

Mine's a kit that almost everyone hated, but I loved it! The gold and black kit by adidas in 1994/5 - it was our third kit I think, I remember owning (still do) with Redknapp 15 on the back, just so many happy memories in my care free childhood wearing that shirt  :wave

The red adidas one from 94/95, I think. Wasn't the away kit the green/white chequared one?

Easy one to answer. Adidas originals. Mid to late eighties - those kits were the fucking bollocks. ;D

I had that first Silver kit from the 80's. Loved it.

I liked the white away posted above but sadly itcwas from the Hodge season and not sure we ever won in it! I had a retro shirt a while back thatcwas the classic white away frombthe 70's with red trim on the v neck and cuffs. Loved that.

The two green ones posted are probably my least favourite kits ever ....

The bright yellow Adidas though? A fine kit

Easy:  76-77 to 81-82.......all red classic with white V neck....very slightly amended through these years.....Hitachi advertising optional.   The Paisley era of three European Cups and countless other trophies.  Pure simplicity allied with success.  The all red machine.   I love this kit and also the away white with red stripe shirt and black shorts.

the black and silver one from kenny's season.  the only modern kit i've ever bought.

i bought it a few months after getting injured playing 6-a-side, so i thought it would be a great shirt to get back on the pitch again with.

i've never worn it :(

Hated all Reebok stuff especially one they made one from Houllier's days that was incredibly horrible to wear. Their only highlight for me was the shirt that we donned as CL as winners in 06.

Also love the adidas with funny fold up collar thing (modelled by Mr Gerrard above) from Rafa's days...super comfy:

I really liked this when it first came out - I always thought that grandad collar would've looked much better than the cricket collar on that year's home kit - but then we wore it in the 1996 FA Cup Final. I went off it after that.

Great thread. I have the long sleeve version of this and it's a belter! Might be interesting to choose a favourite from each decade and/or manufacturer's contract.
