Wasnt Nunez predominantly played on the left last year? This could be ok. Jota/Bobby could play false 9, might help Mo if we plays as the right forward in front of a false 9?

Don't know why you'd want Nunez anywhere but through the middle at this point. He's really good at getting chances, not great dribbling or passing out of the box. Should be Carvalho and Jota rotating there, maybe Jones

As someone else said good that Colombia didn’t qualify for the WC. Even though this years WC feels like a sham and waste of time, most players probably still wants it more than anything almost.

Obviously huge blow for us as I think he’s been our best player probably this season. Well not much competition to be fair.

Yeah it’s happening way too often. Why did we even risk it without surgery if the options were he could miss an extra month or the gamble of no surgery leads to an extra 4 months. Proper stupid decisions.

Given that they are two different injuries to different parts of his knee why would he undergo surgery on the first injury if it wasn't needed?

Surgury comes with its own risks. There's no guarantee we would be any better off now if he'd had surgury back then. He's gone through most of his rehabilitation and then felt discomfort.

It's easy to say it with hindsight but you don't operate on someone when you don't need to. Konaté and Tsimikas had very similar injuries in pre season and neither required surgury. Maybe we should open them both up now on the off chance they get some discomfort down the line?
