Try flying into Porto or Faro and connecting flight to Lisbon (or train)

it's all expensive regardless to be honest, tried most routes and just ended up getting a direct flight Tues -> Friday. plus it's like a 3 hour train so not really worth peoples' time unless you're really pushed for a budget.

I booked via Faro to avoid going to London and fly from Manchester. Rather do the train journey over there than here (or worse drive to airport).

Especially for €25 return train.

Edinburgh to Toulouse, Toulouse to Lisbon on the Monday. Direct flight back to Edinburgh on the Thursday. Might as well make a good few days of it. Hoping for easy travel, sun and Liverpool goals!

East Mids (a fairly easy drive from both NW and London) to Faro Monday to Weds still £70. Compatible trains and coaches easy and pennies from there.

The World Choice one is an overnight stay, same as Sports Options.

Search for hotels with 24 hour reception. Might struggle to not have to pay for that as your first ‘night’ though I’d imagine.

2 options, the 1st is to find a hotel that offers a ‘day rate’ although they tend to only be the big chain ones, Hilton etc. so are likely to be pricey. The other option is to book the previous night so if arriving at 0600 on Tuesday, book the Monday night as depending on which hotel it is, your checkout time will be anything between 1000 and 1200 so will be perfect for what you need. You would be paying for a room that you’re barely in but it would be a lot cheaper then booking a day room in a pricey hotel.

I've booked serviced apartments a few times and messaged them after booking saying I'll pay them a bit more £ if it's possible for me to check-in early. As long as they had availability they were fine with it. Just have to try take it 'off platform' (i.e. ask them via phone/WhatsApp or whatever and not Booking.com so they avoid fees). Hotels more difficult, you might get a 12pm check-in at best.
