Think it was always going to be a struggle today after our midweek excursions but that means it's all about getting the result. We were second best for much of the half but it doesn't matter when you have players like Mane who can do that.

Quite exquisite finish.

Thank fuck for that. Mane is out of this world at times and we really needed that because I felt that they outplayed us and possibly deserved to be ahead. Massive goal, but we need to improve in the second half.

What a fucking goal. Pretty messy stuff but was never going to be anything else after Wednesday, just a question of if we had enough to tough it out over 90mins. Doing alright so far!

If Southampton had our forwards they’d be 4-0 up. So lazy from the fullbacks. Especially Trent. Hardly beating the first man most of the time. I guess after weds its all about the points.

Didn’t we love playing teams who came with high press? Look absolutely clueless. Very lucky to be one up here and not two down, hopefully Klopp can make some kind of adjustments and escape with 3 points by some miracle.

Looks like a very tired performance. I do find positives in how energetic and lively AOC looked at times, and that Adrian continues with his solid form.

Our average position for the half. Salah isolated, the centre of the field still not protected well, and we're spending more time in our own half than we would probably like. Even game so far, always needed a moment of quality to create some separation. Hopefully we can step up the defensive game and keep a platform to keep or improve the scoreline in our favour

Very sloppy with our possession. Fortunately, Adrian came to the rescue with their alway dangerous set-plays and Mane delivers some magic.

I expect us to have a better shape in the second half as our forwards are being starved of the ball.

you do know we played 120 minutes and didn't finish penalties until 1am on Thursday or did that pass you by?

Need a bit more structure and composure building our attacks. They pack the midfield and pressure all of our players leading to mistakes and attacks fizzling out. Perfect time to score though

Wonderful goal by Mane, but not a great half. We end up under pressure and we can't seem to get our attacking game to function. I think we'll need to try and keep possession more in the second half. We don't deserve to be a goal up, but it's nice to be ahead.
