I think that might be it for Rodgers. The players just don't seem enthused by his tactics recently, and I think the writings on the wall for him.

Klopp to city, Brendan to burnley, Sherwood rejects us and sterling joins villa. This could be the worst summer as a fan of this club.

It's not unprecedented at all. It happens regularly throughout football history.

I don't care so much about the table position as I do about the absolutely shite football we're playing.

There's a lot of things I can't stand - Jim Davidson, Parmesan cheese, and How I Met Your Mother

But if there is one thing I REALLY can't stand, it's players who can't or won't make proper passes, but will try things that might work on FIFA or in their head, but have less chance in real life.

I think some of these players don't actually care, and that's bad news for the manager.

It's like 02-03 all over again.

Thats what its looking like more and more

I think you're on the wrong forum.

You know what was great about Rodgers last season...he was quick to learn from mistakes and he would change things when needed but even then for all Rodgers good last season I hate it when people say that Suarez wasn't the reason we finished 2nd because he really was about 90% of the reason, even if we finished 7th in the season before with him...players drastically improve...Harry Kane this season, Xabi Alonso in his last season...etc...

This season Rodgers has persisted too long with players, formations, tactics which just don't work and its cost the team dearly and today was yet another example of that.

I'm not saying the players didn't do any wrong but its up to the manager to make them perform and there are too many of them now looking like they just don't want to play for the man.

Coutinho and Can are usually the only ones that looks like they even care on the pitch in the last 6 games or so.

Don't disagree with the premise of what you are saying, but letting Suarez go? Get a grip.

He'd just signed a contract extension 6 months previously. Any manager worth their salt would have told him to shut the fuck up and honour his deal. That's called getting a grip.

Absolutely pathetic. Lets be honest, most of us expected that exact performance as soon as we saw the team sheet.

For the first time I am beginning to question Rodgers. Some of his decisions beggar belief and questions need to be answered.

Credit to Can, Allen, Henderson, Mignolet and Coutinho who all had solid games and actually looked interested.

Special shout out to Sterling, who stunk the place out more than I ever thought any place could ever be stunk out.
Thought Lovren did well too. The spare prick up front sucks the life out of this team - polar opposite to Suarez. Played Dawson on for the goal as well. Do you really trust Rodgers to spend wisely? Wonder what FSG are thinking?

I would have been optimistic if our season had ended before the united game, one knock out blow has destroyed our confidence and failure to formulate a plan B after having so long without a plan A has seen this season dwindle away. I feel lost and disillusioned and I fear for Rodgers.

Utterly inevitable.

Could see this result coming an absolute mile off.  If Brendan survives this season he'll have been very lucky, because at the moment I'd be asking some very serious questions of him.  I understand all managers make mistakes, but to keep repeating them time after time is pretty unacceptable.

As I said in the commentary thread it feels like it's all gone downhill since the manc defeat at Anfield. They took the wind out of our sails when 4th was virtually in our own hands. Everything has gone to shit since.
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

Last season was Suarez, not only in his individual genius, his effect on others around him in elevating their game and encouraging them, and his never give up attitude which infected the team.

Mario Balotelli. I just don't see the point of him. He doesn't score, doesn't create, doesn't hold up the ball and doesn't make space for others. Anyone who offers more than 16m for him we should offload him asap.

I think he's gone.

This is exactly the same as Kenny's last season. For anyone saying "Rodgers earned it last season" - in many ways he did, but Kenny earned it by being Kenny fucking Dalglish - FSG don't think like that - they're entirely results/progress focused and we have neither. He's gone.

Good research, well done.

And is 'low expectations' good training for potentially managing LFC?
It is if you have a low budget in mind, yes.

Henderson pushing their player off was nice to see. Showed someone cared a bit.

He spends too much time arguing with refs and opponents. To be honest, there were an episode in the first half, where he had a go at the ref, that reminded me of Rooney. Pack it in Henderson and get on with the play

I cannot see Rodgers being the manager next season. His team needed to show some form but they are showing none.

Are we allowed to think this let alone say this on here?

Brendan has lost them! They're clearly not playing for him.

FSG have been brilliant they have backed him 100%

Brendan has bought shite with the money though

Balotelli £16m
Lovren £20m
Markovic £20m
Lallana £25m (yes he may not be as bad as the three above but he's not a £25m man)

That's £81m wasted

Hull v The Nearly Men

Outstanding (but only if your name is Rodgers.)

The rest of us know it was a shambles.

And their goal came from a corner which should have been a goal-kick and there were 3 Hull players off-side!

Another wasted 90 mins.

Rodgers is doing his best to make sure that we don't qualify for the Europa League and on tonight's showing he is going to succeed.

i dont think ive ever been more depressed with our football club, we've been knocked out by smaller clubs in the cup before but thats usually when the idiots in charge pick a selection of 'dead wood' and 'not good enough kids'.   This is the best we can offer up with no injuries and we've been outplayed by villa, west brom and hull.

I hope we get to see the 140 page plan Rodgers sent to FSG when we got him in

This is the thing that gets me, he talks a good game, explains what does and doesn't work, what player profiles fit and which don't but then goes and does the complete opposite.

Powderpuff shit. That Balotelli for Lambert and Ibe for Lallana swap was so obvious. We should play a back 4. We get picked apart by any half decent wingers with a back 3. Also Can needs to return centrally. Johnson is so terrible I will be livid if we see him again this season. Needs to leave this summer too.

The semi final shattered these fragile little bitches confidence.

Mario Balotelli teaches you the tricks of the trade.

Lesson No.1 - The Offside Trap:

Christ it's so fucking depressing. The reason's there's three twats behind him is because of the offside trap. The only danger if Balo steps out is the far post runner but Dawson gets called offside if Balotelli is in line with Skrtel or better - which is exactly where he should be as Skrtel and Lovren lead the line. He really had a dreadful night.

I'll watch this again later (cos I hate myself) and confirm it, but I think in the second half we had 4, maybe 5 successful passes that were not to a player either standing still or moving away from the opposition goal. Part of it is probably down to a lack of movement but our passing just seems terrible in general. It's hoofball in a cheap suit.

Fucking hell, you're keen.
