Just realised, unfortunately after I'd put my bet on, that this is the tournament that Jimenez promotes. He tends to struggle in this event (by his standards). I imagine he has a few distractions that he wouldn't if he wasn't the promoter.

The Kjeldson shout is a good one although this tournament rotates courses. Something about this tournament he likes though.

Inspired picking by Buck Pete last week.  1st and 2nd in the PGA last weekend.

Nice little earner that paid for my Sunderland away day and a bit more.  But.........I should have been sleeping on twenty pound notes this week if I'd just followed my own dam tip. Can't for the life of me understand why I didn't do Woodland from the start again. As I said a fantastic talent and it was literally a case of when and not IF he won a PGA event.  Won't be getting 100+ on him in the near future.

The main reason for posting is to draw your attention to Gary Woodland.  Young lad in his 3rd PGA season and already has 2 top 10's and 2 top 25's in his 4 starts this year. Playing the best golf of his career and averages 3 ton off the tee.  If it wasn't for blowing a glorious eagle chance on 17 he could have won it last week!

This week is the AT&T over 3 courses and bit hitters can score heavily on the reachable par 5's.  I reckon this Woodland guy is a great talent and while the bookies continue to offer 100+ then i'll take it.  Best 125-1 with Tote and similar on BF.

Still managed to get 75/15.5 on Woodland this week so bet is on.  Plenty of scope for the bigger hitters this week but i think at this level its all about the all round game anyway.

Also had EW hits on Johnny Vegas and a speculative punt on Tommy '2 gloves' Gainey.

Got a bit of a feeling for Mahan this week. Has gone close recently and he has played pretty well here in the past. Bit short at 20's though.
So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

Here's the forum picks for this week. Let's see what our returns would be on a "very" hypothetical 10 x 10 = 100 £1 doubles on the win and first day winner markets. Total £200 stake.

Kjeldsen  Horsey, Havret , Jimenez, Queros, Clarke, Soren Hansen, John Parry,Gareth Maybin, Cabrera - Bello (late addition)

Na , Couch , O'Hair, Woodland, Johnny Vegas , Tommy '2 gloves' Gainey, Mahan, Bill Haas, Bubba Watson and Martin Laird

I'll use Hill's first day leader prices and if any of the selections win the tournament post the price you got and we can work out the hypothetical returns.

A first day leader double minium return would be £ 630 - Highest would be £7300

Not fond of the European tour whatsoever but had a few small EW punts anyway.

Parry, Storm and Pablo Martin.

Also, It will be interesting to see how 81a's doubles experiment pans out.

Half way through the day in the PGA and the forum picks are holding up very nicely.
Not so great in Europe but Hightown Phil's picks of Kjeldsen and Horsey are right in the mix.

Sicilian Open and Transitions Championship this week.

Edfors and Levin e/w first round leaders double.

A week to early with this bet.  If Levin holds out to be leader at the end of today this will be the second time in 4 events he's had the first day lead. Certainly one to watch.

Had a little nibble on Senden and JB Holmes at decent odds before the 2nd round starts for them.  Only small stakes.

Swerving the ET now.  Its turning into a crap tour and the standard is far less.

Bubba is playing great golf and letting himself down with his putting.  4 good birdie attempts and nothing on any of them.  Shite

Laird on the other hand.  He's a cracking player.

Knock that in and he's 3 off the lead. Close it nicely please.

Couch managed to drop 3 shots in his last 2 holes.

Dickhead.

Going on the shithouse list along with a few others. Nice position going into those two holes.

Looking towards the Masters I will be keeping an eye on Ryan Moore over the last two rounds of this tournament. Probably shot himself out of contention this week with a terrible first round but shot a nice 5 under with no bogeys yesterday. He was 14th in the Masters last year and will be 100/1 + most places at the moment in the Masters betting. He tees off in 5 minutes.

After Couch's fiasco yesterday I've had an e/w  on Vaughn Taylor and will be looking to get on Mahon tomorrow if he's within 3 shots of the lead. If he's leading after today I'd be less inclined.

Adam R managed to pick the winner in the PGA but not surprisingly no one picked the European winner.  A wind ravaged tournament won by a wind specialist.

Will try the same again with forum picks next week. Interested to see how it pans out over a span of a couple of months.

I only do a few quid each week on the golf. Usually two off each tour and bet each way singles and doubles.
This week it was Lara and Wall in Europe and Snedeker and Choi in the US.
Lara and Choi were both looking good for at least a top 5 finish. Then on Saturday Choi dropped 4 shots in the last 5 holes and today Lara tripled bogeyed the last.
Both finished just putside the top 5. Both were 50/1. :(

I've stuck with Laird for a while now and it has paid off.  I should have had a nibble on him earlier for an EW bet for the msters.  I'm sure his price will drop slightly now.

Good lerd.

Bubba completely exploded.  He's a great player but sometimes he doesn't really need to go for it when he does.  He's a mssive hitter but needs to understand that isn't everything.  He's got it all if he used his head a little more.

Edfors
Howell
Karlberg.

Howell finished on level par for the day and so did Nixon who played with him.

How have they paid me out?  Bizarre but excellent!

Fair play sticking with Laird Adam- nice cash.

He nearly did his usual bottle job but he showed some balls with those couple of birdies near the end.

My hapless mate had money on Steve Marino from the start  at 100+. Marino who went as short as 1.55 after Laird fucked up just can't buy a win on the tour.  Text from my mate late last night "Words can't express how angry I am with Steve fucking Marino"  ;D

Houston Open in the PGA - Kuchar top 10 here last year and the most consistant player on tour. Levin e/w because he's got a better chance than his 50/1+ odds suggest.

Trophy Hassan in Morroco in Europe - Bjorn - Never know what your going to get with Bjorn these days but it's a weak field and he's already a winner this season so should be going in to the event quite confident. Robert Rock e/w who showed a hint of returning to form last week.

Houston Open

I really fancy Phil Mickelson for this one this week.  On reading the course review and past stats it is evident that hitting the fairway isn't essential and decent players from the rough between 100-175 yrds and sand can prevail here. Course also ranked 7th in difficulty for scrambling and 8th in putting.

Ups:
Lefty is an amazing -8 in relation to par for shots >100 yds from the rough and -7 >200 yrds from the rough.  He's up there at 38th in scrambling and due a win too.

Downs:
Ranked at 90th for putting after his 7 events this year, so much room for improvement on the green.

SO if Mickelson can miss all the fairways and drop his approaches from therough pin-hi I'm in business ;D

Mickelson- 20-1 Betfair.

Also going to have a punt on another shit hot player from around the green in Gazza Woodland, who should be fresh after his week off and also a beton the decent player who is Webb Simpson. Finally a little EW hit on Nationwide Tour grinder Kent Jones at mammoth prices - including the top 10 finish.
