Anyone have experience of doing bets (£50 plus) on treble combo's like Celtic/PSG/Barcelona or Juve/City/Liverpool etc. over a long period of time?
The kind where you can put £100 down and get a decent return back? Just wondering if over time the inevitable coupon busters are outweighed by the regularity of the treble combo winning.
I'm certain you'd be down, or if not, you'd have very little profit.
Just had a quick look at the tables and rough dates of when PSG, Barca and Celtic dropped points. There's at least 11 occasions where 1 of the 3 has dropped points. At £100 a bet, that's £1100.
This weekend, you can get £76 profit for the treble. Odds will be different each week of course, but all 3 will be favourites most weeks. Let's round that up to evens so £100 profit for the treble every week.
PSG have played 19 (2 no wins), Barca 20 (6 no wins), and Celtic 21 (7 no wins). Let's average it out to 20 to make this easy.
So there's 11 weeks that you would have lost the £100 stake, and only 9 where you'd have the £100 profit.
So unless I've worked it out wrong, it's not worth it at all.
