Irish lottery
« on: May 17, 2008, 06:16:40 pm »
About three years ago after hearing about a few lads in work winning £500 for three numbers I started doing it. Since then after more numbers were added it has been raised to £610 with Betfred and I am still trying to win it. Anyone else do it or won. My unlucky numbers are 1,6,7. They might come out tonight  :mooncat

That's out of 6 numbers.  If you include the bonus ball, the odds on 3 numbers drop to 300/1.

I do a series of doubles, trebles, etc every week.

Those odds are for 3 numbers not including the bonus ball ( which I always do ) for a  £1 bet, either way great return for 3 numbers.

I've got 3 numbers a few times, could have been more but the other week I did 1,8 and 30 by mistake instead of the usual 3, 8 and 30 ( which came up )

I've stuck with 1,8 and 30 now plus a few other lines ( birthdays etc )

Well done, won myself last night with 3, 17 and 23, second time in about 5 weeks.  Included the bonus ball though so just the £300 back, of which I have to give the other half half.  Still nice though.

I have just been up with my wife to pick it up and as my wife has been putting it on lately I said to her " You go to the counter and get the thrill of picking up over £600.
My wife has been putting it on for three weeks at a time so the woman behind the counter said in a very curt way " I can't pay you out until the other draws are over. My wife said surely you can do what the National lottery does and reprint the coming weeks draws.. No she said, "you'll have to wait.
I said a few things like " So if you put it on for six weeks and you win on the first draw you have to wait for the next twelve draws to be over. Yes she said in a very snotty way. My wife then asked for the manager and she said that she was the manager, grabbed the phone and spoke to someone who she said comfirmed the rules.
There is a William Hill and Tote betting shops within spitting distance in Kirkby so I went in and asked both managers what they would do, both said they would pay out and void the bet and reprint for the following draws, so when I got back home I rang customer services who then rang the shop.
After keeping me on the line for five minutes she said that the lady in the shop wasn't the manager after all and she had in fact said my wife was very rude to her.
The customer services woman said that during their conversation she was very short with her and she would be speaking to the area manager about her attitude and that there wasn't £600 in the shop to pay us out until Monday in any case. To say the shine of winning after doing something for the best part of five years has been taken away is an understatement and anyone putting on the Irish lottery at Betfred for more than one week beware.

They paid us out on Sunday, these are individual draws and after religiously dong these numbers which are the first two years we won the league and Liverpool's lucky seven for five years I wasn't going to wait until the middle of November to be paid out.

So have I got this right:

1) You can pick upto 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 numbers....but you can't pick 6 like on the English Lottery?

2) You have to match ALL the numbers you pick? Eg: If I pick 5 numbers and only 3 or 4 of those numbers are drawn you don't win anything?

3) You can choose to play a 6 number or 7 number draw. Basically if you choose to play a 6 number draw then the bonus ball doesn't count right?

4) So if you pick 4 numbers and play a 7 number draw you win the same prize regardless of whether you get all 4 regular numbers or 3 regular numbers and the bonus ball?
Ya we have been talking in the half time, we need to do something, we need to change things and maybe if we score then it will be different and we scored and it was different.  - Rafael Benitez Ataturk Stadium Istanbul 26 May 2005

Really? I thought even if you matched 2 you'd be able to bag 60/1 winnings.

For 1 number, odds are 6/1.

I have never played betfred lotto before but I am tempted to give a shot but would like someone to clarify this.

danbylfc   The Irish lottery is 610/1 for 3 out of 3 numbers in the likes of Betfred, William Hill etc in Kirkby town centre. Be careful, some bookies around Liverpool who have no competition pay  about 575/1. 4 numbers pays £6,500 8)

Drake31.  In the past two years I have won 610, 305, 610 , 213.85p 8) and quite a few smaller wins. I have tried every combination under the sun, even doing 8 numbers permed which gives you 56 chances of winning. I have probably spent a fair chunk of the above trying to win it but if you stick to it, it's great when your numbers come up.
