What a horse race but not the 2 you would expect. That was a sensational ride by Houlihan and what a game horse. He was beat there but he stuck his head down. Wouldn’t want Enurgemene unless he’s a price at Cheltenham. Pan flat when they turned the taps on. No turn of foot whatsoever. Not sure the tactics were the best. He’s a 2 mile stayer.
Energumene was disappointing no doubt. Still Fav, but don’t think you could back him off the back of that. The winner still the biggest of the three for Cheltenham. Think Blue Lord has a good shout now as well

I’d have been happy enough with Delta Work giving all that weight away. Off levels think he’ll be very tough to beat

If GDS is any good he should win the Gold Cup running backwards. Another different winner of a staying chase.

Personally I think Tuesday and Wednesday are the best days in terms of the quality of the races. The Friday is always busiest as they let more in. Club tickets are already sold out for the Friday, so you’ve got even less options.
It's what I thought to be honest. Anyway I'm considering Irish gold cup day at leopardstown next Saturday since it's only 2 hours away from me by bus and Luas. Any tips lads  :lmao

I actually looked into the two days this year, think I may next year. The quality looks off the scale this year. Just back Mullins at the DRF is usually the way to go but they aren’t always much of a price

Already checked Galopin Des Champs; 4/9 to win  ::)

Yes, there are loads of top notch runners, I was quite surprised by it.

Final decs won’t be out until Thu/Fri so just be careful if you back anything earlier in case they’re not declared

Thanks for the advice mate. Yeah I'll wait till Friday. Not been to a racecourse in Ireland before. Went three times to Leicester when I lived there. Enjoyed the days even though it was egg and spoon stuff  :D

Last ever race I watched in the UK, a horse I backed won at 20/1.

Skybet have Jonbon & Constitution Hill Double @ 7/2 currently if any of you fancy in, very good value in my opinion.

That is decent value, no better than 2/1 elsewhere. How much for £20?

Although this usually means they expect one to get beat, presumably Jonbon

Yeah max £20 Duv. I see it as a 7/2 bet on Jonbon, may possibly cover someone else in the Arkle depending on the market on the day of the race.

Thanks for that info, just stuck £20 on.

Keep us updated if any other Sky offers in next week or so, they tend to offer shit prices on the day, but some of their increased price offers are decent.

No worries, I use several sites and that one caught my eye, Sky do a countdown every week in the lead up to the festival, so the next decent one should be next Monday.

Be better when a few more bookies start doing NRNB.

Think Dysart Dynamo a decent bet for the Irish Arkle this Saturday, seems a more speedier type than Appreciate It to me.

Bumper should be quite revealing as well Thomas Mullins Fascile Mode seems very well regarded, so much so it’s Fav despite there being good runners from Willie and Gordon.

Would like to see Sandor Clegane run well for Paul Nolan, looks a hottish race but 11/2 seems fair

Seems seems be no love Sandor Clegane out to 9/1. Fascile Mode drifting as a couple of others backed in the bumper.

Happy to take 7/2 on Dysart Dynamo.

I was thinking American Mike in the opener but have decided against it; will likely do Quais De Paris instead even though Sandor Clegane's price is probably too wide. Yes, I like Dysart Dynamo at that price.

A 25 year old Appreciate It went off favourite for some reason. We’ll never know it. El Fabiolo is a proper type but we knew that after running Jonbon so close in Liverpool.

Think Appreciate It will go up in trip could never lay up but that’s no real surprise. Disappointed in Dysart Dynamo, don’t know if he went too quick or that’s as good as he is. Very good from El Fabiolo, on the Whole jumped a lot better than on debut

Fury Road pushed him. That mistake at the last ended any chance of a shock, unimpressed by GDC. Big money went on Appreciate It on the course some on course bookies had him at evens at race time!

Lossiemouth was a shocker, being impeded didn't help but never looked like winning.

I enjoyed the day although it was mega packed. I'll go back on a quieter day. I had the winner on the last 3 which is always nice. A longish odds winner in the last race in the pissing rain brought back memories of Leicester 😁

Another top class day of racing. Am tempted by Honeysuckle and James Du Berlais probably just watch though.

Think we’ll find out how good Facile Vega is today, and if Blue Lord wins like he did at Christmas wouldn’t be surprised to see him made fav for the Champion Chase. The Irish Champion hurdle looks a great race on paper and should show us who is most likely to finish second to Constitution Hill

Having watched GDC again I think he was better than I initially thought. Came away well at the end and seemed full of running so every chance he stays the GC distance. He looks the most likely winner in an underwhelming group for me. Probably doing him a disservice as he’s not as flashy as he looked as a novice.

I think Vauban could be overpriced today. Beaten by State Man last time out but the ride wasn't great and was forced to switch, and he was having his first run of the season. Fair to say he was fresh the whole way too.

Given improvement I wouldn't be shocked to see him go a lot closer to State Man today. Honeysuckle notwithstanding :D

Actually think this has been the worst DRF so far. Lots of good horses but they’re going off short prices because they’re in uncompetitive fields.

There are a lot of shortys but I’d only say the Dublin Chase looks uncompetitive today. Two of the shortys got turned over yesterday too so I think it’s more the bookies not taking any chances which means there should be value elsewhere

2mile division as clear as mud

Another shorty beaten, but you couldn’t have called it on Gentleman De Mee’s form over fences so far. Was beaten over 40 lengths by Blue Lord last time. Although he was better in the Spring last year after a slow start

I think you’ll dominate again this year but not to quite the same extent as the last few. But as good as State Man looks I think he may just push Constitution Hill to greater things

Thoughts on Facile Vega? Too bad to be true or did he and High Definition get racing too early and he had nothing left

Sounds like Honeysuckle will go for the Mares

Yeah I felt they were going too fast and he got lit up, he beat the winner easy enough at Christmas. Not ideal going into Cheltenham, don’t think many (any) Supreme winners finished 5th last time out.
