Cracking day of racing again. Agree on Shiskin, can't see me backing him next time. Jonbon looking better and better with each race and very impressed with Ashtown Lad.

Indeed, really impressive from Edwardstone. Shishkin wasn’t really at it from the start, maybe wants further, but still didn’t look quite right
Starting to suspect that Edwardstone might be better than being a smart horse! Intrigued to see what he does this season. COnsidered backing him but felt he would be outgunned by the big two.

I saw a horse called Marvellous Mick racing today at Chepstow. We've all seen horses run 'green' on debut, but this was quite a watch. The horse was all over the shop and still won by over 3 lengths  ;D

Honeysuckle finally beaten. Not sure the way the race was run suited her but she seemed to be missing her spark. Interested to hear what they say

I’m not sure to be honest. I’d forgive her one bad run but getting 7lb and getting beat by Teahupoo doesn’t augur well. She’s rarely been spectacular though, it has to be said.

The King George card on Boxing Day is shaping up very nicely. L’Homme Presse looks like taking on Bravemansgame. Constitution Hill and Epatante in the Christmas Hurdle and the rearranged Long Walk Hurdle with Champ and Paisley Park.

Was half considering going, but really tempted now

Dettori is giving it up at the end of next year. I’m interested to see what Gosden will do, will he give it to Havlin (surely not), go for a Hollie Doyle or James Doyle or just spread it around.

Havlin will continue in his current role, especially when particular riding instructions are given. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Hollie, but a wildcard might br Oisin Murphy if he stays out of trouble on his return

Galopin Des Champs and Appreciate It out today on the rearranged Punchestown card.

Russell was still quality, but that was a really bad injury he got last time, good to get out in one piece more or less

Galopin Des Champs would want to be putting this lot to sleep easy enough if they’ve hopes of winning a Gold Cup.

Mullins looks to have a good one for the Ballymore in Impaire et Passe. Not sure what was behind him but they way he went clear after a tap was quite impressive

Very nice start over fences for El Fabiolo. I think he’s the main danger to Jonbon. Only beat a neck at Aintree and that was only El Fabiolo’s second run. I just don’t like Appreciate it as a horse, he only looks decent in novice events against horses he’s much older than. 9 years old and running in the Arkle is a farce.

There wasn’t much between them at Aintree and perhaps there won’t be much over fences. El Fabiolo is probably the safer bet anyway as he’s pretty much guaranteed to go Arkle whereas Appreciate It could potentially step up in trip. Also Sir Gerhard still to come out could go for either race although more likely the 2m4f.
I get what you’re saying about Appreciate It but that Supreme win was impressive and Edwardstone bucked the trend for younger winners last year. At least it’s shaping up like a competitive race which often it isn’t

I just don’t like the fact you can run one at that age in any novice race. He’s at his peak age. He’d qualify for veterans chases in 2024. The novice hurdles and novice chases should be limited to 7 year olds, after that if you’ve not run in a novice, tough. Get in a handicap, a horses frame should be fully developed by 8.

I think Envoi Allen is the bet in the King George.

High Definition, the one time Derby favourite is starting out over timber for Joseph today. Not many pedigrees like that go jumping and he’s still an entire. Willie seems to have a well touted one that’s odds on though.

It’s a very decent King George and I can’t make my mind up but would like to see L’Homme Presse win as he looks like potentially the best of last seasons novices in this country at least.

Yep clocked High Definition, interesting to see how he goes. Also think Paisley Park is overpriced at Kempton although he has shortened a bit now

Nice picks Duv. That is the most Paisley Park win of all. Hit a real flat spot turning in but finished stronger than anything. Think Goshen ran creditably too. He’s just in between in terms of trips and class.

High Definition got the job done thanks to two missing hurdles more than anything I think. Lossiemouth certainly seems the pick of the juveniles so far. Came away nicely there.

Just fancied Paisley Park to turn the tables given the ground and couldn’t believe he went out as far as 5/1 yesterday

The Gold Cup division has really lacked a Kauto Star type dominant horse for a long time. They take it in turns and when you think they hit form they bomb out. Find it a very difficult group to weigh up. I have no idea what will win if they all face off again.

I wouldn’t be in a rush to oppose him, I think the first 3 could all be very good. Think Ashroe Diamond could have a very good chance if aimed at the Mares depending what else runs

Just realised I’m talking rubbish here. Ashroe is a novice still. There’s a decent one of Henderson’s in there but she’s 6/1 second fav and think that’s a decent price (as much as any single figure price is decent This far out)

I know what you mean. Thought Conflated was good but surely there’s something better in terms of the gold cup. The 3 mile hurdle division is a bit of a mess too.

2 years ago De Bromhead had a whole bunch of top class horses and looked to be up there with Elliott and Mullins but the best ones seem to have either regressed or have issues. Feel sorry for him given everything that’s happened the last few months

Once Galopin des Champs stays upright he wins the Gold Cup on the bridle.

That was the worst Leopardstown Christmas Festival I can remember.

Just considering whether Vauban is worth ago tomorrow. Clearly Mullins doesn’t really want to start him out in a race like this but if he’s going to be a CH horse (despite only being about to turn 5) then he must be in with a shout.

He looked very classy last season but as we know 5 yr olds tend to struggle, just thought he may be one to buck the trend

Jack Kennedy just elbowed Blackmore off her horse there. You can’t be using another rider to try and maintain a partnership with your horse. If it puts in a shoddy leap get out the side door and take it. Would hope the stewards are having a good look.

Carnage at that fence. Not sure whether that has anything to do with the Gigginstown horse breaking down. I couldn’t tell whether Jack just instinctively tried to push off Amirite and Blackmore as he began to lose balance C and fall that way. If there was anything deliberate there then that’s very dangerous.

Yeah, a race to forget. Just ugly to watch from start to finish. The horse that was going best got shoved off by Kennedy.
