Not directly. Implication is that they were deliberately lying about sources of income which would mean all those 'sponsorship-paid-for' wage increases were breaking the rules though. Whether Premier League want to open that up will probably depend on how hard Manchester City push UEFA and what UEFA then get forced to dump out in the open about what they know now (and knew then).

Debatable. There is a rule stipulating a maximum loss of £105m that teams are allowed to make over any 3 year period. There are however no rules about where teams are allowed to get their income from.

There is. Sponsorship also has to meet the fair value criteria. There biggest problem will be a retrospective investigation into how they met STCC (Short Term Cost Control) which was brought in to stop Clubs pissing away increasing TV revenues on wages. STCC meant wage bill increases had to be covered by increased commercial revenues. Central to that was Clubs giving accurate reporting of commercial deals.
