Let's play our game and put them under pressure, keep it tight at the back with spearing protecting the back four.

Can see Adam coming on as a sub when the games a bit more stretched in the second half
Google messi topless on holiday. Now look at david silva, villa, iniesta, xavi, they have the upper bodies of little boys.

Plus his deliveries have created a lot of goals for us and this might be the type of game where a free kick or corner might be the difference
if we get someone on the end of it.

I'd have Bellamy and Gerrard ahead of him for set pieces.

Leivapool moves the Adam agenda on to the pre match thread...

Seriously it's so boring.

Adam has shown against the top teams this season that he can mix it will the best of them. Yes Spurs away was a nightmare but everyone had a nightmare that game.

Your agenda is nothing but sad and offers nothing to Rawk.

If Bellamy and Suarez play the wings behind Carroll with Gerrard in the centre, which would you have playing on the left? Or would you have them switching?

bellamy on the left for me is better for me and suarez's best position at ajax was at the right of a front 3 anyway, somewhere we have yet to use him surprisingly.

Adam was poor against wolves in general, his assists(second one was luck) help him escape his overall bad performance in my opinion. When we have Gerrard and Hendo why use adam who can not defend for his life and is a burden. Do we have to sacrifice 2 other midfielders to accomodate him, is he good enough player for that... I dont think so. His passing is decent when there is no pressure but dwells on it and takes too many touches before releasing it. His glory hunting stuff is also getting on my nervers, he should be provider not a finisher. Suarez if fit should start, Carroll had joy against wolves but spurs defenders will give him tough times and Carroll wont have the same effect. Kuyt should only start if Bale is playing on left wing, otherwise top form Bellamy should start.
The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.

Anyway getting back on topic, I think we'll probably look to let Spurs see plenty of the ball in the first half, frustrate them and and go after the win with our subs like we've been doing in other big games recently. The game plan should dictate the lineup. Suarez and Dirk to come on after the hour mark and try for the 3 points. Main concern with this is how we'll react if we go a goal behind.

Team I'd like to see for this one:

                  Reina

Johnson  Skrtel  Agger  Enrique

         Gerrard Spearing

              Henderson

      Suarez  Carroll  Bellamy

Final score  2 - 0  Suarez and Carroll  :)

Does anyone know the situation with Ledley King? I know they have to nurse him along. He could be the difference for me. They are a far better defensive unit with him in the team and I'm sure 'Arry will have saved him for this game.

Will Kenny start with Luis? Doubt it. May let Stevie play in a 3 with Henderson and Jay with Dirk in to shadow Bale or he might even put Craig over that side to give his young Welsh team mate a few verbals. Hope he keeps faith with the big yin cos he seems to be coming on song just at the right time. Let him soften up their back 4 and then unleash li'l Luis to deliver the coup de grace.

but isnt that worrying about opposition bit too much, its not like we are defending a lead like against city or early lead against scums. we only sit behind when we have the lead which is fair enough due to our great defending. We should attack and have the control of the game from the start like we did against both mancs teams in the beginning. Agree with Dirk as a sub but not Suarez, i think Suarez, Bellamy, Gerrard and possibly downing or Maxi start with Hendo and jay in the middle

I'd have Bellamy playing as inverted winger. Teams are scared of him when they see him cutting in and that frees up space for Enrique. And having Suarez's pace, trickery and ability to fuck shit up on a world class level means that he can roam free since Bale isn't exactly the best at covering for the full back.

Couldn't be arsed reading that, only skimmed over that. The fact that he went through all that time and effort to say time and time again he doesn't see us as a threat and how we're nothing any more only highlights the fact that we still are.

Someone who says "fuck them we can beat anyone why should we care about them" is someone who thinks exactly that and fair enough if they do. But anyone who goes through all that effort is trying to convince himself rather than anyone else.

You're suggesting more or less the same thing but different timing. I think we're both accepting there will probably be extended periods of this match where we don't have the ball, so our best tactic would be to make sure we're the ones deciding when those periods of the game are, sitting relatively deep during those times to keep Bale and Lennon from getting in behind and man-marking Modric. Whether we think our best time to go after the win is the start or the end is up to Kenny but I think he might wait until the hour. Even then I think we'll still be quite deep and try to hit them on the break.

some funny stuff on that article, and honestly some fair points too. but it actually seems that the poster is jealous of our past trying to emphasis that their history is greater then ours. We do dwell on the past yes, why wouldnt we but we are looking forward to the future as well. We shall see in few years time where we are and where they are. At the moment their is no doubt that they have more talented squad and is doing very well in the league, but lets see in few years time. The difference is that now we dont and wont lose big players but can Spurs do the same, we shall see....

My team against Spurs:

Reina

Enrique
Agger
Skrtel
Johnson

Spearing
Henderson

Gerrard
Bellamy
Kuyt

Suarez

The movement of Bellamy, Suarez, Gerrard and Kuyt is vital against Spurs, who have many pacey and strong defenders. But there positioning is questionable and movement is the best way to test that. I think playing Carroll would be an advantage for Spurs it would be too easy for King and Kaboul to contain him with their power and pace.

Liverpool are jealous of us, they are mad at us for being a better club that`s the reality of it, they are sour because they know deep down inside, even if they beat us next monday we will still be a better team than them, they hate the fact that when it comes down to it, they cannot match us, and not ONE of their players would get in our team.

Evening kick-off should make for a great atmosphere at Anfield. Suarez returns, need to win this. The big Cup games have passed so the player's can't use that lame excuse of losing focus. Then there is revenge for the thrashing. We have to match their 5 in midfield which can turn to 4-3-3 when attacking otherwise we again will be chasing shadows. The fact that KK still has not learnt that playing 4-4-2 even against relatively poor teams like Bolton given our personnel is a bit worrying. If he persists with it, I can see Spurs' more mobile and creative midfield running rings round ours. Which means it is either Suarez or Carroll not both.

I suspect we will go with the traditional 4-4-2 and the passion of the night might just get us through but it will be quite a gamble.

I would understand more if this was coming from a bitter or a scum but all of a sudden from Spurs fans. It seems they believe that since they are doing well they take us as rivals, but we rarely do and that seems to piss them off. Since we dont think about them too much it is making them angry and they are trying to provoke us into taking them more seriously. sounds more like a whinge against us from a little girl :D  well if they win the league and is a constant threat for champs league it could eventuate to that but not yet. Not for this season alone in my opinion.

I genuinely didn't realise how much we are hated, as seems to be comments akin to that from loads of clubs forums.

Don't get it to be honest.

Just one twat, I've got a lot of spurs mates who ain't got a problem with us and prefer us to the mancs.

I have this feeling that what we have to offer from the bench will ultimately swing the result, so maybe Suarez and Hendo or Adam (the other starting) to come on after 60 mins and really take the game to Spurs.
