I think we will see Robertson get a game today.

Not even on the bench again. But given the volume of games we have coming up it would be suicidal to think Moreno should be starting every game for the next 6-7 weeks

No Lallana on the bench?  :o

only back in team training since Wednesday. Plus he's been out a while, likely hugely sensble not to throw him in after 3 training sessions with so many games coming up.

No Gomez? Is he injured?

On the bench so obviously not.

I'd assume as well the fact that Gomez played both games for England and we're expecting to be on top and dominating possession gets Trent the nod.
Balotelli, Falcao, Cavani...

I'll be shocked if it's anyone other Etoo. Etoo or no-one. Simples.

In fact, I'll do you all a favor and ban myself from the January transfer window forum if we get anyone other than Etoo.

On the bench so no. Think AA offers more going forward which, given I expect Southampton to have the bus parked today, will be more useful to us. Gomez will almost certainly play against Sevilla in midweek.

Fucking great starting line up, though obviously would prefer Matip in it. Our most balanced midfield three, in the absence of Lallana. And a good bench too!

Surprised Yoshida and Gabbiadini only on the bench, assume the latter will come on if they've kept it at 0-0 long enough. You can tell they don't intend on having the ball in midfield at all!

Not really, he played loads of minutes for England and we've 2 massive games in the next week. Let's not push him too much.

Because Clyne is out injured, could be risky playing a 20 and 19 year old on the right side of our defence. If Clyne was okay I think we’d see Gomez much more at CB.

Nope. Mane starts. No Matip. Henderson, Coutinho & Gini in midfield.

Matip is injured.

With the number of games we have coming up it makes sense to use the squad as a whole. Gomez will play an important part in the next few weeks, and coming off the back of games for England it makes sense.

Haha. If you say so. Baffling you think it's baffling.

How many games has he played at centre back in a two for us (or England for that matter). Two thirds of a game we lost badly to Spurs?

Big 4 in the line up. Hope we get the win now and get a move on the table. About time really. Come on you Reds!
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

I wonder if we’ll see that narrow 4-4-2 (4-2-2-2) again? Could be killer on the counter.

The only weird thing about TAA starting ahead of Gomex is that TAA has tended to play the CL games and Gomez in the Prem. Swapping now seems a little odd.

Lots of attacking options, just need to keep our heads at the back, and find a way through.

They’ll target Trent for the ball over the top today so Lovren or Klavan need to been on form to cover in behind.

Unlucky for the Ox not playing.

He was playing into a good level the last few games.

Really want us to smash these off the park , 4 or 5 would be nice and keep a clean sheet too while we're at it.

Will happily settle for a 1-0 though.  :D
