Does Motherwell play 5-3-2 with wing-backs?  or is it a flat back 5?

3-5-2 with wide midfielders. Occasionally varied with a #10 like Capello's Totti-Roma formation. Given the manager is old and will resign within the seven years regardless, I'd suggest you looked for players who were versatile in fullback areas and used your 12th pick wisely, maybe on a CB who could also play wide or a typical wingback.

In 8 years you’ll have two great wingers there. And one retired. Hold on, how long is the simulation again?  :wave

Seven years. I might do an eighth just for giggles to see the older squads go full United but the draft winner is decided after seven  :D

What's the criteria for winning? Most league titles? Last league winner?
Maybe the group, led by your leadership, will see these drafts as PR functions and brilliant use of humor

Thanks wasn't sure about that. Also nice to know that we get 12 picks. I was thinking it was only going to be 11, but 12 makes more sense and gives teams more flexibilty.

Decided the criteria for the 12th yet?

We need to settle it before we begin the simulation.

I've two ideas:

SPL, CL 5 pts
SFA, EL - 4 pts
SLC - 3 pts
CL final - 2 pts
2nd - 2 pts
3rd - 1 pt
ESC/CWC - 1 pt
EL/SFA/SLC final - 1 pt

Or:

SPL, CL - 2 pts
SFA, EL, SLC, ESC, CWC - 1 pt

Either system would have the highest average finish as tiebreaker. If two teams have the same average finish, the highest finish in the final season is the final and unlikely tiebreaker.

I think the first would be more flexible and fun, thoughts? The one thing I'd like to do though is to void any European points for the first season since participation in those tournaments are purely based upon real-life finishes and give unfair advantages. On the other hand, those teams including mine, draft last  ;D

Hazard was killing it for Lille and Neymar was an insane prospect, even at 17. They’ll be monsters.

If we are considering 2010 as the base and I think hype does matter in these games to an extent, there is obviously a better winger prospect out there.  :-X
There is a reason Pato went so quick in this draft.

Might do a "hillclimb" FM draft from the Championship or League 1 or so sometime towards the end of the winter or early spring, have a good week  :wave Then everyone will also make epic picks based on the outcome of this one + it's England so probably more people will be up for it!

I like the first scoring system as it rewards teams that perform consistently well over 8 years, as opposed to teams that kill in first few years or last few years but are poor for rest of the period.

Yeah I think that's good. Since the league is split in two, I might give 1 pt for a top six position as well. That is added onto the final score:

1st = 5 + 1 = 6
2nd = 2 + 1 = 3
3rd= 1 + 1 = 2
4th-6th= 0 +1 = 1

That way, a team falling apart completely and missing the top six has more consequences.

Trend will lose his shit if I tell you the truth about Bonucci and Godín on FM10 I'm afraid  ;D

The whole point is that Trend went a year too early on the pair of them! Godín can't head the ball for shit and Bonucci is an average Bari young first-teamer with development potential. I had him at Bari for a season and he was alright but definitely someone I didn't feel could carry that side, plain average. Well, well. Love hurts. At least he has Ramos.

A creative duo of Diego and Nasri are added to the Green and White revolution. A bit of arrogance and a bit of samba added to the tiki taka and the German steel. Teams really taking shape.
