After being rejected by Neil Lennon at Hibs, Pennant has signed for Billercay Town in the 7th tier.

Pennant has taken a pay cut to stay at Billercay Town because he was on high wages for a player who was unable to get into the side.

It was headline news in a downmarket tabloid, and they used a picture of him in a Liverpool shirt to make their point.

Good for him, visiting his pal while recovering.

He deserves criticism for his drink driving. Not for who he grew up with and where

I should have added - yes it's definitely commendable for getting out of that life. The problem becomes for teams/employers when you start hiding that stuff even if it is as innocuous as a visit.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of the book is, books about famous people often have embellished/sensationalised or even fake stories that make the book more interesting.

Dunno why people are having a go at Pennant. He obviously didn't write the book, hardly going to write one before reading one
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

I dunno, “Some garbled rubbish” definitely sounds like something he’d write and not a phrase written by some journeyman journo after a quick buck.

Looking him up, he's about to enter Celebrity Big Brother so I imagine any excerpts in the tabloids will be the most dramatised ones as those will appeal to the people most likely to watch the rubbish that is "reality" television.

Reading between the lines, I'd bet he knew exactly what Rafa was saying about his shoelaces but he just had fuck all idea how to actually do it. He probably forgot his Velcro boots.

It is funny how he mentions Rafa had too many instructions for him to follow and how it was difficult for him to follow.

Maybe, and I am just guessing here, that is the difference between a nothing player and a good player?

Finger pointing, excuse searching little cry baby Pennant.

That excerpt from his book quoted on here is hilarious - it just shows he really never had/has an ounce of intelligence.

He was obviously an athlete but didn't have the brain for the game and the bit about 80% of the time not understanding Rafa just made me think he's one of those people who JUST TALKS LOUDER IN ENGLISH WHEN HE'S ABROAD SO PEOPLE CAN UNDERSTAND HIM BETTER.

What a twat

Given a chance with us that he scarcely deserved, and this is the way he talks about the man who gave it to him. A lot of the time footballers seem like knobends but then you read or watch interviews with them and they're alright. Based on that excerpt, Pennant is every bit the dipshit that he's made out to be.
