Really a great first half. Everyone came out and was playing well together, things working right away, controlling the flow of the match, and seeming to know what we were doing every moment of the way. A goal for Borini, and Suarez just never letting up on the ball at all and creating some great chances, as always. Seemed to ease up a bit in the second half with the lead, but still pretty in charge of things, and added on a third goal anyway.

Yeah, I know, things aren't always going to be this easy and go this well, we're going to have some challenges ahead. But just as far as everyone being on the same page together and things working and all of this, if it's any sign of what's to come this season, it's going to be very exciting.

Yes the movement was fantastic, Really hope Agger stays also think we're a really strong team if we keep him, also should remember it was a poor team so let's not get too exaggerated either.

Another clean sheet, added fitness, progression to the next round and more time playing to Rodgers' desired system. Job done. On a side note that Red Nets looks to be a terrific addition to the side. Looked quality and was involved in all the goals today. Johnson's goal was superb.

The attacking movement was great and liked seeing plenty of people wanting to get into the box.

Suarez is just amazing and motm for me.

Borini has very good off the ball movement and an amazing work rate.

Lucas played 85 minutes and looked really good and comfortable.

Downing played pretty good as well and hope he takes some confidence into the new season and forgets his first season with us.

Agger is a beast and I hope we don't sell him.

Another clean sheet.

AND what a fucking strike by Johnno, jesus.

Red nets, Red corner flags, the lads all in red - a full house to welcome the lads into the new season and introduce ourselves to our new manager.

Debut goal for Borini, Gerrard get's his 150 - we dominated the game and won 3-0.

Oh football, how i've missed you.

Roll on our next game.

If you only saw the last 30, missed some spectacular stuff in the first half. Even from the second half we looked good, but, great stuff in the first half.

On another note...

Because of the contract, I'd wager.

I'd keep calm and enjoy the result which was built on an outstanding attacking peformance.

Why would the owners want to cash in? If we did surely we would get the money to spend on another centre back anyway?
