to be honest I hate players who go for the cheeky tap in type of pen. I prefer a player who hits through the ball with power and conviction.

I would normally plum for Riise but after his poor effort in the final at the mo I'd say Cisse.

John Barnes is the best penalty taker the clubs ever had, shaved the post and hit the side netting 99% of the time.

Current mob, I like Dudek, I've heard he's good on penalties.

I think Zenden, providing he becomes a first-team regular, could also take our penalties.

I know many of you say Cisse, but I'm not convinced. The one he took against Villa went in pure because of pace... but it was on the ground. The one against Milan in the shoot-out would've been saved had the keeper dived the right way.

I'm looking for someone who can hit it with pace into either top corner.

He made it right thow.

I've always thought a striker should take them, so that's why I'd love Cisse to. But I'd like it getting shifted about, Xabi's composed and confident at the best of times. Nando has goot technique.

Riise, like Gerrard hits the ball best when he has no time to think about it and the body and instinct takes over.

While they both CAN take penalties, neither of them is ideal for the job in my opinion.

Cisse on the other hand has proved his ability with the dead ball under pressure bothat Auxerre and here. He seems to get tunnel vision when taking a penalty and everything but the goal is blocked out.

Didi has nerves of iron and can take penalties but tends to blast them which means the ball can pretty much go anywhere unless he strikes it perfectly.

Xabi obviously has the ability but i am not 100% sure about his nerve. It took a hell of a lot of bottle to take the final penalty and no matter what people say it was well placed which is why Dida only managed to fumble it away. He still looked like a rabbit in the headlights though and a failure would possibly have left his confidence for penalties in tatters.

Alternately, Cisse would just accept he missed and 'KNOW' the next one will go in. He has confidence in shockingly abundant amounts.

Can't speak for Zenden as i cannot remember seeing him actually take one myself.

I remember Zenden taking a penalty for Boro in the final, it was an awful pen but still went in. Zenden won't be playing much anyway, Cisse will probably be our penalty taker.

Agreed - class penalty, just to the wrong side in retrospect cos Dida always dived to his right but shabi weren't to know that was he!

Ciise for me.

Through out the Season I couldn't understand why Alonso wouldn't take and I was delighted
he stood up in the final but i honestly though the man didn't look confident. Did well to follow up though.

riise for me, if he just twats them, even if the keeper does get a hand on it, it will just break his fingers and still go in anyway!!
then it would be carragher, when he stepped up against b'ham in the Worthington Cup final, i bottled one, but it was one of the best pens ive seen
