I'm aiming for mostly humorous and/or unexpected, but I'm also trying to pick people who would actually be good at their job. Might stick a few vaguely serious ones in later, but I doubt I'll be picking any real life politicians.

Depends how you define it, Machiavelli was a career politician (amongst other things) but I mostly picked him based on his literary work.

Wouldn't go anywhere near the current lot but there are a few politicians from further back that I respect and wouldn't mind picking...just seems a bit boring in the context of this draft!

That gets boring quickly though. Har de har another person who was shite at handling money picked as Finance Minister. Much funnier to do what Betty and a few others are doing I reckon, where the picks are completely outrageous but still make sense in a roundabout way.

I get it and I like it. I'm sure I'll take a similar line. I think the title of Foreign Minister is misleading slightly. Maybe it should be Foreign/Diplomacy or something, because the 'foreign' tag doesn't make as much sense when your own cabinet is foreign to you!
