90'+6', Harry Kane... C*nt!! Hahahaahhaaa the state of Chelsea forum after Kane scored.  ;D  ;D

Have you not seen this place after a similar Anthony Taylor masterclass in one of our games?

I mean it was funny but you would be going apeshit if that happened to us (not you tubby). Its violent conduct surely, so it being reviewed, for some bizarre reason not getting sent off, and then conceding from the subsequent corner was absolutely appalling officiating.

Mike Dean on VAR again :D

Fuck me sideways, front and centre for dodgy decisions this weekend and we were apparently rid of him!

If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Of course, I agree it was appalling officiating on ridiculous level. As Tuchel said, "the goal shouldn't stand".

That's right.  It would have been one less man to mark at the following corner though (I'm not sure that it would have made much difference as half the Chelsea team seemed to be magnetised towards the corner flag).

I see as well as the rumours of upping their (already insanely high) bid of £40m for Gordon to £45, the bookies now have Chelsea as 3/1 favourites (if he were to leave United) to sign Ronaldo.  What have they been smoking?!?!?!?

It's so strange. They're spending increasingly mad amounts of money with no discernible plan at all. If I was Everton the only reason I wouldn't sell them gordon for £45m is they'll probably bid £50m by the weekend.
3 midfielders minimum in the next window. And probably another young CB to boot.

They borrowed £800m a few weeks ago.  Speculate to accumulate and all that.

As I understand FFP it's averaged across three seasons.  Chelsea had a break even spend last summer but a massive £170m net spent the summer before.  This summer they're at about a £150m net spend and still not done by the looks of it.  That's going to average at over £100m/season on transfer losses but maybe their underlying finances are healthy enough that they can do that and still be within FFP.  Or maybe they see FFP as the joke it is and couldn't care less.

True.  They only managed to get £18m for German international Werner though.  I think buying clubs will look at the bloat of their squad and know they need to sell so it weakens Chelsea's bargaining position.

So far Boehly has made signing players look very hard or, at least, very expensive.  I think he's shortly going to find it doesn't work the same way when you try to instigate a sale.

There's a Swiss Ramble thread about this from earlier this week.

According to that, somehow Chelsea are going to be easily with-in the Premier League FFP rules even with the enormous spending.

Apparently, Werner's wages is off their books because he took a pay cut to force his return to Leipzig. That's a good deal. With respect to their transfers so far, they have spent a lot but they haven't significantly improved.

So Sheik Todd Boehlyavich is shaping up to be a long term threat , it's 1 thing to stay within FFP like Chelsea look like doing, it's another for him and his group to have the available cash to pump 200m into Chelsea, weeks after purchasing them for over 2b, with no leveraged debt put on the accounts from the purchase.  Klopp is gonna have stay for years and continue his habit of miracle conjuring inline with Todd's transfers

Moving on Pulisic for Gordon is kind of insane. They can spend all the money they want if those are those choices they'll make. It won't matter.

It won't matter, because Pulisic has never really been that productive and Gordon is shit. They'd be selling one inconsistent player who can't stay fit and has never made 30 league apps (for Chelsea and only once in his entire career) for a rubbish youth prospect.

That thread is a great example of why FFP is a bit pointless.  It stops a club spending £1bn in a single window - the 2022 equivalent of Mourinho's first transfer window at Chelsea and then some - but beyond that it barely puts the breaks on.

How the accounts go from £94m losses - just inside the £105m allowed - to £125m 'profit' via various accountancy wheezes is beautifully insane.  If an owner wants to pour money into a football club then they will be able to even without the dodgy extremes that Man City have gone to.

Some things never change.

Quote
Chelsea investigating allegations Tottenham's Son Heung-min was racially abused at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea insist they will take the "strongest action" as they investigate reports Tottenham forward Son Heung-min was racially abused at Stamford Bridge.

The incident is alleged to have happened when Son went to take a corner in the second half during Sunday's 2-2 draw in the Premier League.

The club have previously banned fans for life following racist incidents.

In a statement, Chelsea said discriminatory behaviour was "totally abhorrent".

It added: "Chelsea FC has consistently made its zero tolerance position on discriminatory behaviour very clear, yet there are still idiots like this that attach themselves to this club as so called 'fans', which shames Chelsea FC, our coaches, players, staff and our true supporters.

"We are investigating this incident and, if identified, this individual will face the strongest action from the club.

"It has no place at Chelsea or in any of our communities."

Chelsea's long-running 'No To Hate' campaign launched its latest initiative on Sunday, which gives instructions on the back of every seat on how supporters can report alleged abuses by either by text or by barcode on a smartphone.

They believe that identifying a specific seat from which incidents either happen or are reported will help increase the chances of individuals being caught.
Rafa Benitez: "I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager. Thank you so much once more and always remember: You'll never walk alone."

Funny how refs like Taylor only have these "masterclasses" against certain teams though.
