I've seen a lot of DS9 between (roughly) seasons 3 and 6.. but midway through season 6 I kind of drifted out of it. The problem with ds9 is that once you've missed a few episodes you don't have a fucking clue what's going on. Got some time off work this summer tho so would be good to fill in the gaps and watch those later episodes.

Just to bump an old thread - I've been off work with flu this week so finally decided to watch series 6 & 7 of DS9. Excellent stuff. I'm still just under half way through series 7, but series 6 was top quality with very few poor episodes, and several belters. I have to admit, I'd forgotten what a great actor Avery Brooks is. he really should have won some awards for some of those performances (Far Beyond the Stars & In the Pale Moonlight in particular). I'll be quite sad when I get to the end of this I think.

The last 10 or so episodes of DS9 are exceptional.

Love the new film though and can't wait for the next one.

I love ST... but for me I got very into DS9... a lot darker and a lot more war themes, I enjoyed that, some of the other ones pictured everything as too perfect and diplomatic.

My order of preference DS9, TNG, ST, Enterprise, Voyager (Voyager was shit apart from 7 of 9 being yummy)

Voyager was a mess of a show. There were no consequences to anyone's actions and at the end of every episode everything was reset back to zero. Almost no continuity and very sloppy story telling. It was like a Star Trek remake of Lost in Space with infinite supplies and a zillion disposable shuttles in the cargo bays.

I like Trek but never saw TOS or any of the movies. Watched some TNG but DS9 and Voyager were on during my teens so naturally I saw more of them. I gave watching Enterprise a go but kept waiting for Al to appear and Scott Bakula to make another leap.

Just watching Voyager Season 6 at the moment.

I missed the last few seasons of the show when it was on TV but since the Box sets are so cheap now I'm buying them and catching up.

I was an avid DS9 follower, the Defiant was my favourite ship, just loved the fact it was an out and out warship and was pocket sized compared to Galaxy class or any other class for that matter.

Oh and I think that in the history of Star Trek the two hottest chicks are:

Nancy Kovak as Kanutu Nona

And Jerry Ryan as Seven of Nine

I remember when seven first appeared in voyager she wore a silver suit.  Am I right in thinking it was changed to brown because people complained she looked too hot.
Hopefully theyll get round to doing Pretty Woman n all,and actually put a pretty woman in the lead role instead of Julia Roberts. She looks like picasso's tried drawing a horse with his feet

Pffffff.....

Seven of Nine = practically android, it's like fancying Pris from Blade Runner (although Daryl Hannah was exceptionally hot in that, but anyway....)

Jadzia Dax = a man in one of her previous lives, not gonna go there.

Kes is where it's at, lads. Ocampa and cute. What the HELL did she see in Knee Licks?!  :puke2

Yeh that's the one. Special decontamination cream that has to be rubbed on in slow motion with black lights in the background... and judging by google images she got naked a few more times. Saw the first series of Enterprise but lost interest soon after. Still caught the craptacular ending scene on youtube though after hearing how badly it was received. :D

Favourite Star Treks in order;

* The Next Generation. Started off pretty ropey, with a fair bit of moralising and political correctness, but eventually settled into quite a few ways to explore the universes backstories and all the cast.

* Voyager. Star Trek gets back to its roots as a titchy, vunerable ship with some decent stories throughout given most of their safety nets had been withdrawn. The Captain was great since she wasn't even supposed to be in the role and somehow because more believeable as a result. You wouldn't have picked the actress - so it seemed more likely

* Enterprise. A lot better than people give it credit for. Some great stories and again, right back to the titchy ship scenerio - this time with bugger all capabilities, knowledge, know-how and a captain happier to get to punchups and firefights without a second though

* Star Trek: The original series. Did like this a lot. But not that many episodes. Nice to see them now and again, but I couldn't watch a load in a row due to the terrible overacting of Shatner.

* Deep Space 9: Never really got into this. Never really tried. Seems OK, if average.

If we are heading down the usual Rawk route, in one episode of TNG a lowly ensign spills hot chocolate on Picard. She had previously played the three boobed woman in Total Recall. And she's very pretty.

Edit: Lycia Naff is her name. Not as pretty as I remembered. But a great piece of Trek trivia nonetheless.
