24/7 .... Where time becomes a loop

Where time becomes a loop.

We have to find the point in time where the fissure occurred, then adapt the deflector array to emit a Chroniton burst at the singularity and break the loop.

hmm, perhaps I watch too much of this stuff.

It was an episode that focussed on Jake and his Dad. There was an accident on the Defiant and Ben Sisko basically gets thrown out of phase with reality. Everyone else believes he's dead but Jake see his Dad again briefly a few weeks later and then he disappears again. The next time he comes back is a year or so later and he stays for longer but they can't get him stabilised and he disappears again. Next time we see him Jake is married and has kids and Sisko reapears and he has an hour or so before he starts to disappear again. Every time it happens Jake is so sad and his Dad is trying to reasure him that he's fine and as long as jakes  Ok he'll be happy.

It's one of the most touching episodes I've ever seen of Star Trek especially at the end where Jake is an old man. The older Jake is played by the Actor who plays Kurn (Worfs) brother and he won an Emmy award for his part in it. It won a few awards that episode and it is a cracker. I won't tell you what happens but it is simply brilliant.

Agreed mate, that episode is a cracker

I watched the DS9 "Oceans 11" remake last night, and am now off to start watching the final stretch..

And my personal favourite...Ishara Yar...

Mmmmm....cameltoe.
Watched that episode recently, she was great.

Best part of this scene, apart from her outfit, is when Worf walks into shot in the background and just keeps checking out her arse.

Excellent :D I had forgotten about that breaking the warp barrier episode. The writers must have had a few nights downing nyquil before they came up with that one. Going warp 10 and becoming omnipresent then evolving into giant amphibians. But everything was all back to normal after a quick hypospray from the doctor.

Would love to see another series, but it's hard to know what they can do next.. I don't know what the setting could be. It's too soon to show any "further adventures of the enterprise" and as far as ideas go, they already seemed to be scraping the barrel a bit with voyager and enterprise (despite them both having good moments)...both were reduced to "oh shit, viewing figures are dropping, we need to bring the Borg in"

Doubt we'll see a new series any time soon, sadly. I'd say maybe in about 10 or 15 years we might see the enterprise G in a new series or something

Anyone heard of "Sev Trek"? Cartoon parody site of Star Trek (and other sci-fi stuff). A scene is set with a context, but the final frame (or final speech bubble if a single frame toon) is left blank and you enter your thoughts on what the killer line should be.

Great scene, for example, of an away team battling some alien monster or other, Picard, Riker, Worf, Data, a few redshirtensigns.....Picard says, "Fire at will!"

Riker says, "Yikes!"

I agree that would be a risk but they did a really decent job of re-booting Start Trek in the last film, its not much of a leap to take those characters back a couple of years? Not saying it should be Kirk,Spock etc in fact it actually shouldnt be them but get some decent writers in give it an over arching story arc, which shouldnt actually be too difficult and dont flog it to death  for 7 series just make a really tight 3 series effort.

It shouldn't be difficult to do a new Star Trek TV series.  All they need to do is create characters that aren't 1-dimensional (ie more Garaks, less Chakotays), create gripping story arcs that thread though entire series', put hot girls in lycra.  Done.

While doing someting at the academy seems like a good idea, dont think it would fly, its earth bound (ok cheap and easy) but where is the star trekking?

And they did sort of touch on the brats sometimes, via Crusher in next gen, and then in DS9 with the two episodes that featured red squad. The second one, which had them on a ship they controlled would be the sort of logical progression done with an academy series in order to put them in space, in order to satisfy the space nature of the series, and quite frankly I hated every one of the little fuckers and wanted them all dead and was glad how it ended. So I cant see it working.

To make it work as a series they should go forwards, further into the future from the next gen, go into part of the galaxy they havent covered, with new bumby headed villians and good aliens that look almost human and breathe oxygen.
