Changed the game.

Keita couldn’t get into it for whatever reason.

I'd imagine he was pissed at not starting yesterday.  And you can see where he's coming from.

I was reading an interview of his yesterday and he was saying how happy he was he had started so many games in a row lately, probably the biggest number in his career and then the lineup dropped  ;D

He was exactly was needed yesterday. Really good contribution.

We have to be careful with him and after getting his knee jarred against AM the boss was never going to start him last night.

Ox speed up the game with his running and carrying the ball forward, opening up more spaces for the front 3!
He's amazing as an 8 when the game's more stretched - as is Hendo, for that matter. Interesting post from Yorky in the Keita thread saying the latter excels when there's no space, which I think Oxlade (and indeed Hendo) sometimes struggle with a little as 8s.

He certainly suited the game-state when he came on because he was excellent, really driving at West Ham and always looking to be positive on the ball.

I agree. When there is space for him to drive, and when the game is end to end, it suits him perfectly. he of course can score long rangers, but imo keita against parked buses is a better option as he progresses the ball into the box very well and links up well

He's been doing really well tonight and has been combining well with Salah and Trent on the right hand side. His selfless runs into the final third offer an option to Salah (who is playing much wider tonight) and giving him more license to cause havoc.

Loved him tonight, great drive and gets himself into great positions. When he gets the ball within shooting range you know the opposition panic. Great shift tonight.
Having Welbeck try and mark Pirlo is ridiculous. It's like trying to get a golden retriever to stop a tennis ball machine.Because one is a machine designed for a very specific purpose that it is peerless at, and the other is a fucking dog.

Playing like he never had a year off.

Didn't expect much after this injury, but credit to him, he's fighting to stay in this team. You can't train that mentality.

Going into the season I wondered how he would get regular games as the idea of a fabinho gini and hendo midfield seemed pretty concrete. From the showing tonight, on form that is our best midfield

Played very well, love the way he takes the ball on the turn and drives forward. Great acceleration and one of the few who can hit them from range.
