Robbie useless savage was banging on about Young's cryuff turn. From what I've seen the turn was fine, it was the ball after that. Maybe more awareness of what was on, or not, after the turn and he'd not have screwed up. Still left Messi with work to do.
"All the lads have been talking about is walking out in front of the Kop, with 40,000 singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone'," Collins told BBC Radio Solent. "All the money in the world couldn't buy that feeling," he added.

They need a whole defence, a couple of players in midfield who balance it most likely with Pogba being a luxury rather than the team being built around him.... a 30 goal a season striker.

Good luck getting all that any time soon.

So what sort of rebuilding job have Manchester Utd got on their hands?

Let's run through their depth chart. Highlighted players are those whose positions are safe, are young enough to have a few more years at the "top", do not want to leave and do not need to be urgently upgraded. I've put it in 4-4-2, as that what "The Gaffer" prefers, although, as we've seen, his assistant Ole has proven to be flexible on formations (has no tactical plan):

------------------------DDG
                              Romero

Young--------Lindelof-------Smalling-------Fatso
Dalot          Jones             Bailly             Rojo

Lingard--------Fred-------Pogba-Pogba----??????
Mata              Matic           Herrera           ??????
                   McTomtom      Perreira

--------------Rashford------Martial
                   Lukaku             Sanchez

So by my calculations (with estimates based on a bit of savvy in the transfer market) they need:
New GK starter (60m)
New RB starter (50m)
New CB starter (70m)
New CB backup (30m)
New RW starter (60m)
New RW backup (30m)
New CM starter (70m)
New LW starter (60m)
New LW backup (30m)
New FW backup (30m)

So that'll be about £500m on 6 starters and 4 decent squad players. Obviously they'll get a decent wedge back from sales of the likes of Carlton Pogba, Lukaku and Rojo, but it's still an overhaul.

Who can we see coming in?
T-Rex (60m)?
Koulibaly (100m)?
Bale (100m)?
Joao Felix (80m)?

I can't see anything wrong with this masterplan. They'll be back challenging by 2020/21 season for sure?

I had always thought that the postponed game would work in our favour but since their bounce has worn off they've revealed that they are actually completely poxy.

Still think a night-time game against City in Old Trafford has to muster some kind of atmosphere. Surely. Even a weird one. Even a game where a team isn't losing to city after 15 minutes.

"Ander Herrera is set to leave for Paris Saint-Germain this summer after failing to agree terms on a new contract. Juan Mata is yet to sign a new one-year deal and will become a free agent on June 30 if the stand-off continues.

There are also doubts over the futures of Matteo Darmian, Marcos Rojo, Eric Bailly, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez although sources have told ESPN FC there are no plans to sell Paul Pogba despite interest from Real Madrid."

Also Valencia is leaving and Mata hasn't signed an extension (same with De Gea).....

----------

These are all players the United fans should WANT to leave (not Bailly maybe) - they are all over the hill or just terrible. I hope some of them stay.
